  1. That was for Clear Brook. I'm pretty sure, but I wouldn't put my money where my mouth is, yet!
  2. North Shore is going to have to make a hire, when it's all said and done.
  3. Anybody got any inside knowledge as to who is interviewing this week?
  4. BH will get there (where is there...IDK), but Coach Westerburg has proven that he can take a growing community and make it great. Let's be honest if you're a family living on the East side of Houston, why would you not want to send your kids to Barber's Hill schools. Coach Westerburg will make that place as attractive as it can be from an athletic standpoint, and the snowball will roll!
  5. True Consol has those D1 receivers, but they've got more than that. Consol is good!!!
  6. Yes, but a ton of the schools they play have the city "Pasadena" or "Humble" in front of it! Awful district!!! Atascocita is very good, just not how sure their tool has been sharpened this season!!
  7. A&M Consolidated is REALLY good!!! 2 Big time receivers and good QB.
  8. Maybe the weakest district in the state, once you take out the all HISD, DISD, and Austin ISD type districts.
  9. Going with the Bulldogs on this one. In the past they have proven to get after the QB effectively, and if they get steady pressure on the Lee QB they will take this one. Nederland usually starts hitting their stride about this time each season, so until it doesn't happen I wont bet against them figuring it all out.
  10. Bellville... The Pasture of Pain puts out some good food off that pit!
  11. Nederland always seems to get better as they get deeper into district. They always seem to figure it out. Barbers Hill I think is on the brink of becoming a really strong perennial program i.e. will always have real well coached QB and group of receivers. I think Barbers Hill will show that their program is moving forward this week. BH 35- Nederland 24
  12. Is the Supt the little guy that wears cut off sleeves on the sidelines??? Serious question?
  13. Also be willing to bet, Coach Westerberg has higher expectations for his program than anyone from the outside will put on him!
  14. I think BHisd is thinking more long term than just these first few seasons. BH was much like Allen when Coach Westerberg began there, just a little blip on a major highway with huge expectant growth and the intent to stay a one horse town for the community. I believe they sought him out because the admin understood the commonalities of the situations and Coach Westerberg had proven that he knew how to turn it into a big time winner. Not saying that BH will ever get as large as Allen eventually became, but the current football staff has proven it knows how turn a growing community into a powerhouse! It would be cool if he can do it again, and I wouldn't bet against him!
  15. They have a great staff at BH, and they pay everyone in their district more than other districts so why do you have to hate on coaches that make a little more money. It's not like they're taking food off your table. I'm generally happy for people when the make a good salary and work hard for it.
  16. I'll probably get roasted for this but here it goes... I think Roschon was an excellent 5A-II football player, but not good enough to play at National College Powerhouse, like UT is becoming again. I think he was in a very well coached system that featured him, but when they got to teams from areas with better athletes it was evident that he was just one among many good players. I loved watching the kid play his heart every week the chances I got to see him, but this is my opinion (As I often say... I hope I'm wrong). Nothing personal... Fire Away!!!
  17. My guess: North Shore (no explanation needed) West Brook (same as above) King (getting it going over there) La Porte (good new coach + young talent) Channelview (lately been in the playoff hunt) United (having trouble putting it all together, hope I'm wrong) Deer Park (The well is drying up) Sterling (big chunk of their athletes now zoned to Lee)
  18. Coach Carter was the DC at Pearland Dawson for a while. They had some really good defenses there. He has a really good resume, familiar to Baytown, and will bring energy to the community and program. On paper it looks like a really solid hire!
  19. It's a process, but they'll continue to get better in football. The entire community is committed to building a big time winner, and all the conditions are conducive for it to happen. They have the right guy to get it done... I just hope the community realizes it takes time to get done.
  20. It will all come down to who the Principal of the school wants. She makes all the hires for that campus. Their OC would be a good internal candidate, and Lee has a really good OC. I'm sure this job will draw some outside interest as well. I think the only way a Baytown school will win is if they get someone from in Baytown that can get ALL of Baytown excited, and get kids filtering that way.
