Like I have said, it seems like a no-brainer, as far as respect goes, but it is what it is and probably won't change, I'm sure being required to be present for the National Anthem will become another "controversial" issue. Like I have also said, I won't lose any sleep over this one, lol.

I see where some teams are out for the National Anthem, some are regularly not. The last minute preparation isn't a very good excuse, imo, and some teams work around it. I constantly hear about a coach's job is about building character AND talent, seems to me this easy adjustment would be a no-brainer, but I certainly won't lose any sleep either way on this one.

I feel this should be simply protocol, you want to represent the school, be on the floor for the National Anthem. Just like not being able to choose to sit with your buddies in the stands while you're not playing or be on your phone during the game.
