The positives are there, even in the midst of losing. It’s visible and not just the play but also what is being done on the sidelines and off the field. I may be overly positive but I see it. I do agree that we don’t have or get top tier talent, never really have but I don’t think competitive is out of the question, especially in this district. Outside of EC and OF it seems to be pretty open.

A. He has other things that are more important than winning to him. Doesn't mind winning. Just wants it to look a certain way. The people in power don't really care obviously so his job is secure B. Woodville is more run heavy this year as we should be. But we're lining up in shotgun yet running it strait up the middle the majority of the time. Makes no sense to me at all. We probably get stuffed in the backfield more times than not. But we have a little fast RB that'll break for a big one every now and then. Defensively Buna moved the ball pretty consistently throughout the game but we mostly stopped the big plays except for the last score. Early they were moving it then we'd force a turnover. Later they managed two possessions moving it consistently with no turnovers till they made it to the end zone. The last score was a big 60 yard run around the edge. Our defense looks decent but not elite. Our offense is going to have to score more by moving the ball more consistently. I don't think we'll do that by running the ball strait up the middle out of the shot gun. No extra backs in the backfield for fake handoffs, misdirection or nothing. Just sending a 130 pounder strait up the middle out of the shotgun

The whole game was miscues. Tip pass for a BC TD, BC throwing a grenade on fourth down for a first down, O fumbling the ball on a long drive, O 1st & 10 inside the 13 & two offsides…. its HS football, lots of lots of miscues.

The score mechanisms shouldn't deter any discussion. I personally think it helps enhance the forum. I do agree to a point that it makes folks be a little lazy when having to search scores. Now all you have to do is look at title of game thread or the scoreboard for live score updates.

Take solace in the team being disciplined and projecting a positive culture. There is nothing for the coach to work with at the moment. Not sure where the relief will come from.

So am I. The QB was a big part of the offense. I know he cause lots of havoc for our defense. we play EC for the “district title” (theoretically) in week 10 so I’d like to see some game play of this game. Or some description of how every one scored.

I must say, very impressed with BC's running back Luna. Very shifty, quick and a tough runner. He was practically their offense last night. Had well over 150 yards rushing. For Orangefield, Gonzales wasn't too sharp. He missed at least 4 throws that could have resulted in big plays, including two that were for sure TD's. Thought both defenses played well. I know Breeden is the star for BC (played every down of defense last night with cast) but I was very impressed with #5 Trahan. That guy was all over the place last night. Had to have over 15 tackles. The outcome of this game was about miscues and not so much about execution.

What exactly did I say? Cause I never said coach Rob ruined Woodville. And if you saw the game yesterday you would know Woodville had more than enough talent to beat Buna easily

I have two questions. A). You honestly thing a coach would intentionally “sink their ship”, Why? He’s job depends on winning. because Orangefield plays both teams, how does Woodville come out scoring then gives up 14 points at the end of the game. ?? Defense got tired or Buna got stronger

You (and other local experts) said the same thing about the coach that led WV to the State Championship (which is why he left). WV does not currently have talent to win. That's a fact whether you want to believe it or not.

That’s unfortunate, the banter back in the day was fun. All these Bot score mechanisms have taken the human element out of it

Don't really complain about things I have the power to change. But if I have the opportunity to voice my opinion about a coach who I believe is ruining a team I support on a sports forum then I will do so every time. I'd be lying if I said he's doing a great job

Starting district with the potential championship matchup at HF. If they played today I give the advantage to the horns. Other factors besides the dudes will determine this game. Take it how you want. I could also see them meeting again in the playoffs. Provost Umphrey may be available if so. Still alot of time between now and then to get better or worse.

Well after the beating Hardin took last night and CC only beating Colmesnil by a couple scores… this shifts my theory back to Hardin taking a decent step back from last season.

Does anyone else on the Prairie see improvement in this team? Genuinely curious, I see the difference and can see them starting to gel and figure things out, even though final scores don’t necessarily reflect that. Am I overly optimistic? Our OL is atrocious, that’s a huge problem obviously. The defense is much improved and seems to be getting better each game. Looking for intelligent thoughts…
