I really don’t understand urgency, priority or necessity of this.

While we have to live with being spied on, hopefully it won’t get as bad as “Enemy of the State” with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. As for Anthropic and our military, we don’t know what went on behind closed doors. That has to be some top secret talks and really not for our ears. Trump has to be very careful because of the leakage. He will also take the heat for the decision. Some people will call it falling in lockstep, but that’s because they’re not used to a leader with cods. There has to be more to it because all I hear is that we have to win the AI “race”.

AI Takeover Complete: Data Center Construction Surpasses Office Construction For The First Time! [Hidden Content]

From the article: "President Trump told reporters on Friday afternoon that the U.S. could pursue a “friendly takeover” of Cuba, a comment from the president that comes as his administration moves to secure the Western Hemisphere and intensifies pressure on the communist regime in Havana through a crude-oil blockade." The part about Anthropic and the Pentagon is not opinion.
-
I appreciate your opinion!

My point on the power of the algorithm is made. Do you have any idea why Trump is even talking about Anthropic? Because they won’t give the Pentagon full access to their proprietary operating systems like the idiot Hegseth demanded. Does the President try to clarify the government's position? No, he attacks the company as “woke” so all his supporters will think they should be kicked out. The computer sent you a piece of junk reporting. The algorithm is stalking you…

“2001 A Space Odyssey” by Arthur C. Clarke was written in 1968. HAL is the name of the AI operating system in control of a deep space expedition. Move each letter up one in the alphabet and what do you get? IBM. I don’t know if machines will take over the world. I do know that much of what was science fiction, back to Jules Verne, has become reality. The processing power of AI is mind boggling. The more it knows the deeper it can go. As Ol Dawg said, Pandora’s thrown away the key. I don’t see it ever getting sufficiently controlled so as not to pose as a continuous potential threat to individual privacy or national security. The scope is scary. Call me crazy, but I don’t use the voice controls on my phone, and it aggravates the hell out of my wife that I won’t use Alexa to search the tv. My phone has never told me out of the blue “I didn’t get that”. Hers has. I use ad blockers but they can still get at you. The power of the algorithm to guide us only to sites it thinks we like because of our searches is terrifying. That in itself is an example of how AI can influence us. It behooves us all to think twice (at least) before we believe whatever our devices are sending us. Thank you, Baddog, for bringing up a topic that a diverse political group can discuss together seriously.

I love the way we dialed in after the slow start. Still have to reduce unforced turnovers though. I’m also glad to have Coleman back for this game. -

For being a round 2 game you can’t find that score anywhere… -
I see your point, and none of us want mass surveillance, but the way I feel, we are already being mass surveilled. Tvs and phones already spy on us, and that’s AI. If they don’t want their AI to be used autonomously, why are they talking with the pentagon. Trump claims they’re a far left company so maybe it’s a trust factor. Maybe I don’t know enough about AI to make a decision.
