This is supposed the be the beginning of a special few years for Vidor, the junior class has won at every level and every sport since they was in 7th grade. It is a really talented class. The sophomore class has the size to go with the athleticism of the junior class. If Vidor cant improve drastically this season from last it would not surprise me on bit to see several of the key juniors leave the football program to just focus on baseball. I would hate to see this happen but it would not shock me at all. Hopefully they can get it done on the field this year and take some heat of the coaching staff but time will tell.

Huffman should have a good offense but the defense is a big question mark. Their defense was below average last year but opportunistic. They lost TEN starters on defense. They will have some good back end guys but the front 7 is completely up in the air. I'm rooting for them but it seems like an uphill battle.

👍🏼 I did a simple Google search of how many people are killed every year by medical malpractice in the US. The answer was 250,000 to 440,000. I asked how many people every year were killed by the police and it was about 1,300. So the average person is more than 300 times more likely (30,000%) to be killed by a doctor or nurse than the police. Also note that nearly anyone can be killed by medical malpractice but the number of people who come into dangerous confrontations with the police are extremely limited. The situation is almost always initiated by a criminal suspect, not the police. So for the average citizen he/she is probably 500 times more likely a person dies at the hands of a doctor than the police (and most are justified unlike medical malpractice) yet do the medical professions get disparaged because of those statistics?

Self defense or a defense of others is not murder.

Comments like he was not the target or he was pulled over for a minor traffic charge and so on are smoke screens. It has no bearing on the use of force.

Hull Daisetta 2026.... Birdwell leaves, HD now open

O line and D line -
Yes I know Jeff retired, for the current coach I’d say this year tells a lot. The narrative has been that they were young, well at the end of the season if it hasn’t improved then that excuse is gone and it might be time to look for a new direction.
-
As a Vidor graduate that suffered through some awful years I’ll just say coaching does matter. Jeff Mathews and his staff came in and made a program that kids avoided into something to be proud of. Made a program that has one of the worst record in the area into a tough game for any opponent that has a decent record and did it while coaching class and holding his kids to a high standard. Could Vidor be better maybe, but they have also been much worse and for town where 1 player every 10-15 years has a larger college offer character, integrity and mental toughness seem more important.
-
We’ll have to wait and see. Seems a little off to have three baggies of drugs sitting on dash with the law in pursuit.
-
Did you watch any Vidor game last year or are you just basing everything off records alone?

Do you know what role Bird will fill as coach? OC, DC etc.. -
Because Vidor is always loaded with athletes. No reason why they should not be winning.
-
Vidor needs a new coach from outside the district , not one that's is placed into that position by the former coach who is his best friend. He's just there to build up his retirement, no desire to change it up. If it's not working then it's not working and their record proves that is not working. Vidor should be able to do better in this district than they have been doing but the ship continues to sink deeper and deeper !

The top 2 are easy. It will be a battle for 3,4 between lake creek, kingwood park, Porter and west fork.

Still being researched, we don't know if it was poor decision or right decision. All I know is when the lights come on behind me, I pullover and turn my vehicle off, roll my windows down, take my wallet out and put my hands on the wheel....... If I get shot, it will be so obvious it was the cops fault, there will be no need for research.

Language warning at the beginning…….this is staged but funny and true.

Smart decision

Slight lean in favor of Montgomery due to RB Keldrid Ben. He's not the biggest, fastest, or most elusive RB, but defenders just bounce off of him. You are not going to arm tackle him. Even when a defender puts a good hit on him, you better bring some friends to get him on the ground. He can take a hit, keep his balance, and keep going.

It was a lot, they keep teams in the game lot longer than they should because of these penalties…

I don’t think most interpreted his post specific to Jasper improving. I took it as any improvement benefits all.
