They have solid pieces on both sides of the ball and glaring weaknesses that must be addressed or it could be a long season ahead. I mentioned this in another post but the new Hemphill head coach really held his guys accountable. I only saw what was put out on social media so I can only imagine how the in person meetings went. For someone to come in to a program that is at rock bottom and get a week 1 win against a potential playoff team speaks volumes. I will be there to support the Pirates and hope the right moves are made during the week to improve the team for Friday night.

John Curtis is at least relatively local students and only have about 350 students in the school, STA has players from all around the country and enrollment around 2000 students.

Have never been a fan of these OOS games and I never will. Big difference in open enrollment and cross country recruiting. As big of a North Shore supporter as I am. I don't like the fact we are playing one this week in playing John Curtis. Nothing to gain from playing a team that does nothing that we'll see again this season.
