District 10-3A-II Champion Newton Eagles make their final preparations for the Class 3A, Division II playoffs as they travel to Frankston to take on the Indians.  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 8-0 on the season, improved their season record to 8-0, their district record to 4-0 and clinched the #1 seed out of 10-3A-II with a 75-0 drubbing of Hemphill.  Meanwhile, the Indians, 1-8 on the season, fell to 0-4 in district play with a 48-0 loss to Corrigan-Camden.

The Eagles will be in action in bi-district play next week as they get a rematch of last season's Region III semifinal with Arp, the #4 seed out of 9-3A-II next Thursday at Wolf Stadium in San Augustine.

Join Bobby Fillyaw, Donnie Meek and Jon Meek for all of the action from Jeff and Opal Austin Stadium in Frankston for the pregame show at 7:15 pm followed by the kickoff at 7:30 pm by clicking play on the following player:

24 straight years in the playoffs.  Proud of you guys for keeping up the tradition.  Only thing is y'all are something special and have the opportunity to do special things.  Stay focused and keep working hard and good things are going to happen to you
