I will take the Dogs in this one....going against what I know of Angleton.

But I am going on what I know of the Dogs.

I will say this....THERE is a group of players on the Dogs that will be the Difference in this game and that is our (seldom mentioned)  OFFENSIVE LINE.

Those guys will be the reason that our offense outscores Angleton.

It will a high scoring game and I know that it will be tough to go into their stadium and take one....but I am going with the Dogs, rain or shine.

Go Dogs!
Hey 1987-What makes you think it will be high scoring? I ask, bc I know nothing about Angleton, and you seem to follow Ned football much closer than I. If I were to make a prediction, I would guess it would be low scoring based on Ned's D. But I can see how it may be different in your mind; is it bc Ned's D creates such great field position AND they score points directly with pick 6's (BTW very impressive. Ned didn't have a single pick 6 during the 3 years I played Varsity there)? Would guess that Angleton has speed based from their team last year, but so did Crosby And GCM. Our offense is more explosive this year, no doubt, but the nay Sayers claim it's bc the field position is so favorable. If Angleton can reduce turnovers and pin Ned's O deep with a good kicking game, Big Ned MAY struggle. If not, I say Ned wins by 2 scores. Even if we are stopped, Noel will get us at least '3'. Having said that:
Nederland 23 (3FGs)
Angleton 13

Angleton ONLY needed 13 plays to produce 6 TDs.

Nederland is explosive BOTH defensively and Offensively.....Our O line is doing a great job and I Look for those guys to be difference makers this week.

Field position matters AND you win the game at the line of scrimmage....I look also for the BEEF to come in on certain plays on O this week.
WOW-Brazoswood gave up 58 & 69 points in their two games! :o Just read that Angleton beat Montgomery 28-18 in week one. Montgomery started the season against 2 top ranked team's. They lost to Dawson last night 28-17. I bet Montgomery is beat up this morning. With that information, I'll stick with my prediction.

Also, honest.....

I would NOT put Angleton in the same category as GCM or Crosby (no disrespect to either).  Angleton is ranked in top of the state for a reason.....just a side note.
I hear ya, and I think I'll make the trip for this one. Sounds worth the 2 hour drive.

Actually Brazoswood didn't give up 58 and 69 points. They won last week 29-0 against Westbury. Brazoswood is supposed to be a playoff contender in 24-5A, along with Clear Springs, Clear Brook Clrear Creek. I expect a great effort from the dogs of Nederland, but the Angleton offense looked terrific last night and they cleaned up alot of the mistakes they made at Montgomery. Kids looked in better shape also. I gotta go with the Cats of course with probably the same spread as the Montgomery game 28-17.

Speaking of Montgomery, sounds like they played Dawson pretty tough on the road. They closed the gap some at the end, but Dawson just had a little more last night. Got alot of respect for the Bear head coach and the entire program. They are a solid football team.

    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
    • See why I don't trust my Hogs?
    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
