Would this be ironic?

Yes, I know the story and Keith Frazier moved to Kimball for athletic purposes...Had he sat out a season, playing JV, they could have done nothing about it, but he did not...So, tell me Nash...you mean to tell me that HJ does NOT get transfers? ::)

Every once in a while but they are not "orchestrated".

"Nash's post states it "never" happens in Houston. Is this your claim as well"?

Let me try this again - I agree with what Nash is making refrence to.  Yes-it does happen in Houston.

I agree. It happens in Houston as well.

The situation at Kimball was CLEARLY orchestrated..Kids that transfer to Yates are not set up by summer coaches...A lot like the way HJ gets their "move ins", right?
Nope- not right at all-  You can attempt to portray Yates as "clean as the wind driven snow" all you want-  Most everyone here knows what takes place and throwing an innuendo at HJ will not change the Yates situation one iota.  Hj hasnt gotten as many transfers in the last ten years as Yates gets in a semester and you can't change that either.

Nobody- and it is killing you

So they just show up to the great metropolis of Sour Lake for the sights and opportunity? ::) ::)

They?  I can only think of one in the last several years-so it is not a regular, every day happening as it is in other places.  Some people find the thought appealing that their child will get a good education and is not likely to have a knife pulled on them during school hours.  As for "the great metropolis of Sour Lake"- it was many years ago but I selected that area  SPECIFICALLY for the school system and living style for my family and I could have moved anywhere that I wanted.  Your mistake is in assuming that everyone has the same values as you do or that you know better than everyone else where everyone should want to live and for what reasons.

I went to school in the "rough, tough, and dangerous" confines of the city of Houston...great education, Advanced Placement programs, great basketball program and never had a knife pulled on me...I also coached in the "rough, and tough" Beaumont ISD....magnet school,  new facilities, no knife fights there either.....try that one again.....there are MANY options that I would say that are just as good or better than Sour Lake...not that Sour Lake is a bad option, but in this area its not the ONLY one...what makes SL stand out? Their outstanding basketball program....tradition....great coaching staff...so in some students eyes, it is a terrific option...Why not Bridge City? Cause the trophy case is empty....or Orangefield? Cause they likely don't even HAVE a trophy case...come on nash...HJ gets kids often times because of the outstanding basketball program...Just like Yates....

Hardin-Jefferson High School just earned a national ranking in U.S. News & World Report's 4th edition of the Best High Schools. H-J placed 148th in Texas and No. 1,801 (out of 21,776) in the nation with a College readiness index = 18.9 earning a Silver Medal . HJ was one of only three schools in our region to receive the silver medal.

Oh and they do happen to have a Top Notch basketball program to add to this.

thank you- had read that in the paper last week and was trying to find it-  FACTS, Dickie, FACTS

That "you would say" options?  Sorry, that is ONLY your opinion and there are thousands of opinions out there that are as valid or more valid than yours.  HJ gets kids OFTEN?  Name three over the last 6 years.  And you might as well face it- there is a public perception (regardless of its accuracy) that attending an outlying school has less risk of physical danger for a student.

Why is there less of a "risk" in outlying areas....Don't answer that, because I already know the answer..and its certainly not always true...I am not sure about EVERY kid that has landed there, but I know of a few...Its not coincidental, by no means that they happen to be pretty decent ball players either....No crime in that..just what it is..

Lets get honest, Dickie,  You dont know about ANY OTHER transfer because you ONLY know one that happened to be a good player.  In recent years, there have not been any but you arent willing to admit that on this board.  Therefore you DONT KNOW of a FEW, but rather ONE, and to suggest/imply the situation is similar to YATES is an absolute joke.  As for the risk, I was speaking of perceived risk and that perception lies in the eyes of each individual thus making it not possible for me to answer for them.

To my knowledge I only know of one transfer to HJ (Johnson this past season) over the past several years. Don't know where anyone is getting this "multiple" transfers to HJ to play basketball.

Only in Dickies mind.  It's a liberal tactic.
