Silsbee Lady Tigers, Anshawnique Morrisey and Ashley Johnson, headed to STATE

Anshawnique Morrisey won the discus Friday at the Regional meet with a toss of 121'9".  An all around student athlete, Morrisey has already competed at the state level this year in Powerlifting and Choir. 

On Saturday, Ashley Johnson won the high jump and the 200 meter dash to advance to Austin!

Congrats to both of these young women and good luck at STATE!

Congrats to Ms. Morrisey however she won with a throw of 121.  Still great for her, I got to catch this event yesterday and was pretty stunned by the cleveland girl who got the bronze medal and only by a few inches.  Most impressive athlete in the event.  She couldnt of been more than 5'4 and maybe a 140 lbs and she was actually leading going into the finals.  It was a tight competition!!!
