Newton's HC Position

Barbay has stated this year or next will be his last year. My question is what would be attractive to an applicant for the vacancy? Tradition, facilities, area, pay? Barbay I know initially liked being here for the closeness to the lakes and his second love of bass fishing. What do you think?

Someone is definitely going to want this position and you can bet it'll be someone with experience. Small school or not, a program with this kind of tradition is going to take someone special to move forward with it.

I would say the exotic nightlife that the metropolis of Newton has to offer. ;) ;D

Also, being that it is only a 5 minute drive to Bon Weir is a plus. ;)

According to the records that I have seen at various sites, Silsbee leads the all-time series with Newton 6-5. ;)

actually Newton-Silsbee record is tied i believe. Silsbee won in 1921,1939, 1943,1947,1948,and 2006. Newton won its first game against Silsbee in 1986, my oldest son was junior on that team, then we beat the Tigers like 18-13 i believe in 1987 ( I know Mark Henry played on that team for the Tigers and what a great player he was) . I know it was Coach Barbay 100th win because all the team signed the football.Anyway, Newton won in 1998,1999, 2007, and we barely won last year. Great series between two fine schools.
