Football coaches need to always remember the old advice “a jack of all trades is a master of none”. The worst thing you can do to your team is over-complicate things. Keep things simple and master your style of play. You’re much more likely to win when you do just one or two things well than you are if you do 9 or 10 things mediocre.  What makes a coach become good in setex? ;D

Getting 110% effort out of what you have, get them all on the same page w/what you're coaching each player to do and getting them to buy in to the program.Execute what you've learned and give some quality playing time to your underclassmen and above all else teach them sportsmanship win or lose and be just more than a coach for @ times a player may be going thru something that has them emotionally distracted.Be a shoulder for them to lean on.Coach Stewart & staff @ Dayton do all the above ;)

Winning makes a coach good anywhere.  Period

You are correct..You win you stay, regardless of your other qualities..Like the old addage says.."winning isn't everything, but it's ahead of whatever's in first place"... ;)

The number one thing is the discipline/dedication of the kids! All you have to do is look @ PN-G last year. Find out how many different offensive formations and plays they had. They were able to execute them because the kids were disciplined and dedicated to getting it done right. If you get your whole team on board the sky's the limit. Of course you need your go to plays, but if all your going to do is one or two things, you better hope the coaches on the other side stink or you'll be shut down.
