http://web.usabaseball.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100623&content_id=11486240&vkey=news_usab&gid=

The Babe Ruth Roster consisted of Albert Almora (Hialeah, FL); Tyler Beede (Auburn, MA); Jose Cardona (Conogo Park, CA); Brett Geren (Danville, CA); Travis Harrison (Aliso Viejo, CA); Austin Hedges (San Juan Capistrano, CA); John Hochstatter (Danville, CA); Ricardo Jacquez (El Paso, TX); Kevin Kramer (Turlock, CA); Christian Lopes (Canyon Country, CA); Michael Massaro (Waxhaw, NC); Kenny Matthews (Diamond Bar, CA); Henry Owens (Huntington Beach, CA); Garrett Schlect (Millstadt, IL); Eric Snyder (Huntington Beach, CA); and Joshua Tobias (Greensboro, NC).

The coaching staff consisted of Chris Yust as Manager and Bob McHale, Todd Fine and Jeff Bock as coaches.

Babe Ruth League, Inc. beat American Legion, 3-2, in the championship game to win the gold.

With a man on third in the bottom of the 7th inning, Eric Snyder sent a long fly ball to center field to bring home the winning run.

Babe Ruth came from behind to pull out the 3-2 win and keep its perfect record intact going 4-0 for the week.

In a defensive battle, the pitching staff of Babe Ruth kept its composure only giving up two hits in seven innings.

Kenny Matthews led the staff pitching for three innings allowing no hits, walking two and striking out four.

Legion led the game going into the 7th inning, but fell just short as they ended the week 3-1 with a silver medal

  • 2 weeks later...
update:

Rain got us the last week of the regular season, so the league ended with three teams tied, A's, Yankees and Diamondbacks. We have chosen the tournamnent teams for the 16's and 17/18's, they are practicing this week for a 2 out 3 series against Wharton Babe Ruth.

We will have pics and tournament rosters this week for the thread.

Our alumni game will be played next week, the roster keeps growing as we expect 25-30 former players of Mid County Babe Ruth to join us and play the 17/18 yr old team.

Our individual awards ie. Mickey Morgan Award (Batting Champ), Matt Robinson Award (Sportsmanship), Pitching Award, 17/18 yr old MVP and 16 yr old MVP will be presented at the Alumni game.

Thanks go out to all the players who participated in the league, they showed real class on the field. 15 local schools were represented from the area with 140 players.

A big thanks go out to Melissa, Courtney and Alex for a superb job in the concession stand

    • The Middle East is not close and have never been close to a threat on a global (or most important US threat as Russia china) you think the government is more concerned with the Middle East over them? And if either two attacked,Israel wouldn’t be on anybody mind. the UK would and it’s not close the uk is our greatest ally even in the Middle East Uk is our greatest ally. Other than political talking points what have the state of Israel done for the US.   Side bar I started a thread awhile ago about Israel . Few responses.. why is a Christian nation so Eager to defined those who consider the phrases king Jesus, Christ is king offensive.    If we can protest Ukraine we should be able to protest the state of Israel. Take away religion and there the exact same.
    • It's 2 towns trying to get tickets all at the same time. We have a history of crashing sites..lol
    • The problem as well as that all of the social justice warriors, influencers, and instigators repeat these lies in the immediate days after the event, garnering outrage.  But when they're proven false they never go back and rescind their outrage-causing posts, they just move on to the next one.
    • I just find it really hard to believe that Trump will select a VP based on the votes they bring him.  He's going to want a Trumper that will affirm his every move and stoke his ego.  I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I doubt it.  And as you said, in these battle ground states a few tenths of a % point may be enough to swing the whole election.  Trump can't afford a VP who will cost him votes (Noem would cost him full points, not just tenths), but also needs a candidate that will bring in as many votes as possible.  So hopefully whichever Trump disciple he chooses has some political appeal to swing voters.
    • Good news for this district is for the next two seasons your bi district opposition shouldn’t be much of a challenge… Royal may be better next year but other than that the district is pretty rough… Very good chance that it’s a clean sweep though
