Unsigned Juniors? Are there any Juniors out there that have signed with a college? I thought the earliest anyone can sign is November of their Senior year.

Playing at the next level is pretty vague. How about who are the juniors out there capable of playing at a big D1 college like UT, Rice, LSU etc. Then which juniors are capable of playing at a small D1 college like Lamar, McNeese, SFA, etc. Then which juniors are capable of playing at a juco like Blinn, San Jac, Galveston, etc. My point is, which next level are you talking about?

Jasper's Jacob Soisson 2nd and P Colton Burleson are in this group and are a big part of Jasper's 9-1 record. Soisson is as smooth and effecient middle infielder as we have had with a good bat also. He will score a lot of runs for us this year between Alvis and Parker and co. Burleson is a true Bulldog on the mound who will only get better and stronger as the year goes. Any junior who has any college ball interest should be proud to go to any level. Some of those juco's will hit the D1 fields and play on a regular basis quicker  by playing everyday and improving each year if they don't go pro first.

Sports team 1 first of all you started a meaningless post about unsigned juniors and then you insult two fine young men from Nederland. Is that why you started this post to bash players? How many Nederland games have you been to? You are aware Bellow (there is no s) is not playing right now? That makes it difficult to carry a team. Kids read this, if you are an adult you should be ashamed. You not only insulted those 2 young men but also the entire team. You asked who could play at the next level no one needs your retort as to whom you believe is worthy. I will pm you with the rest of my thoughts.

i agree. you can "sign" but you can be talked to. Jalali has great talent to go to a big d1 school.
Also Hagler from vidor I hear is doing very well..
Schlett and Sonnier from Nederland havent really done anything to impress me.
Now bellows and cardenes on the other hand carry that team.
PNG has about 5 kids that are capable of going to a D1 school along with nederland.
[/quote]Bellow not Bellows and Cardenas are seniors and Bellow has already signed with UT and Im positive Nick will be signing somewhere soon, but what do they have to do with unsigned junior talent?  And not taking anything away from these 2 seniors because they are an intricate part of the Bulldog team, but there isnt one player on that team that carries it.  If you knew anything about baseball, you'd know it takes all 9 players to get a W.

PN-G has a strong junior class with Jalali, Stone, Denzlinger, Knox, etc.
Nederland does also, Sonnier, Schlett, Pitts, Babino, Smith
Vidor has a few, Hagler, Mohica(sp?), Maxwell
LCM, Vaughan, Fults

all of which are capable of playing college ball... JMO

but the D1 guys are Jalali, Sonnier, and Hagler.

I would sure hate to make that guy mad...But you probably already have..So you might want to continue hiding behind a keyboard....And I agree with Big Stick this topic is a joke ..But hey it is your opinon and even little boys have opinons...

To Sonnier and Schlett:  I hope that the comment from SportsTeam1 will not discourage you if in fact you are hoping to play ball at the next level.  People of character and common decency are the kind of people you want to impress.  SportsTeam1 has indicated by his post that he is lacking in both of those areas.  It never looks good to put down some in order to promote others.  It's a red flag to the maturity level of that person and it probably wouldn't benefit you much if you did impress him.  Both of you are excellent ball players and have made positive impressions on many people, not only in sports, but in the kind of young men you are becoming.  It's too bad that someone felt the need to make such a tacky  comment, but I believe that you, Sonnier and Schlett are big enough men to overcome one person's poor judgment.  GO DOGS!

I know Sonnier and Schlett. They are not concerned about the comments of some donkey on this forum.

They will both be playing after high school if they so desire.

I am aware that everyone is entitled to his opinion regardless of how uninformed, biased or ignorant it may be!  Fortunately, you and your opinion are meaningless.  Sonnier is my son and Schlett is a very good friend of ours.  They are two really good young men that excel in many things, including baseball.  How do any of us know what the future holds for any of these kids?  We don't, but what I do know is both of these young men are really talented and have as great a chance as any other to "play at the next level."

I rarely miss any of the Bulldogs' games, so the next time you want to discuss him or his abilities you should seek me out.  My name is Melissa and I would be more than happy to communicate my true and unfiltered thoughts with you!

I don't believe that a school can start talking to a junior until either June or July.
With that said, this area has large group of talented juniors that can play at the next level, where ever that is..
First off, I have seen Schlett and Sonnier play baseball since they were 10. There is no dought that they have what it takes.
Soisson from Jasper was mentioned in an earlier post and he too will be playing somewhere after high school is over.
Three other guys that deserve to be mentioned are:
Caleb Henry (Sislbee)
Price Jacobs (GCM)
Kyle Markum (HF)

It's still early  but, I am excited to see how these young men develope over the season and I believe that when it is signing time again, we will be seeing a lot of these names. Good Luck to All!

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
