We maybe talking about an even closer game or Shepherd maybe winning by 1 if this doesn't happen. Silsbee will have their work cut out for them against Madisonville if they're not careful. Shepherd's last TD was against several of Silsbee's 2nd team defense. I think the 9 point win (6 TD's to 4 TD's) was about as close as it was going to be in the end. The turnover on downs you speak of was Silsbee defense making the necessary plays. Certainly wasn't on Shepherd's offense in that situation. Shepherd did convert five 4th down plays in the game. Tiger defense was on the field a long time since the 2nd Q. Quote

We can agree to disagree. 10 games Every game has examples. Eyes in backfield, safeties drifting to close to line of scrimmage or getting pulled into the Middle exposing the edges. Fullbacks/Tightends slipping thru the middle of the field uncovered. Not judging just pointing out the lack of discipline/experience. The other glaring issue is the focus from the players when approaching halftime with lead. Giving up TDs right before half and then on opening drives in 2nd half erasing big leads. Quote

They will play good for several plays, then lay an egg on a play. I do know that there has been a continuing shuffle of moving kids around due to players being out from injury, and eligibility , and I mean some really good players missing. Another problem is DL is small, and the DBs are making a lot of tackles, this causes a lot of players keeping their eyes in the backfield, and getting beat on coverage. It also causes the defense to rush the house and hope they sac or hurry the QB , before He makes a good throw. Ive been told that Tigers will have kids back and mayb a couple a little more healthy, as we get into playoffs. I would imagine the Defensive staff working 80 plus hours a week, will do everything they can to make it work. Quote
