Sorry for your loss. It makes most of the 1000s of squabbling posts meaningless compared to what really matters. Good to know those/us that disagree can lift each other up in prayer when needed.

Thank you for those sentiments, mat.

There are Republicans angry that Trump didn't say nice things about Mueller upon his death.  These Republicans have always been about some sense they have of honor and dignity.  As long as Democrats are polite about destroying you, or Trump, or even Republicans, these Republicans will be proud to say nice things about them.  This was the Bush way.  The Romney way.  Better to lose with grace and give up your country than be impolite.  The American people do not respect the Swamp the way these Republicans do.  That's the difference.  This is the Trump/Establishment divide.  Simple as that.

Omg. I am so sorry for your loss.

How can this be acceptable to any decent human being? Do you Trump fanatics out there wish for, or celebrate your “enemies” deaths? This kind of hatred is tearing our country as well as our international standing apart. It is literally coming from the top. When will enough be enough?

If someone came after you relentlessly using known falsehoods, you probably wouldn’t give two 💩’s if that person croaked.  And I’m sure that’s how the majority of people feel, whether or not they admit to it.  Trump just has the cajones to come out and say it?

I take no joy in anyone’s death, nor do I ever wish for anyone’s death. If you’re right, and a majority of people are Christians, is it any wonder church attendance is falling in this country? Jesus teaches forgiveness and compassion, two things I can’t find in one plank of the Republican platform. You think we’re not going to pay for electing a blasphemer to lead us? Read your Bible.

God can use anyone. In Numbers 22:21-39 God used a donkey in to rebuke Balaam, who was acting against his will. The donkey saw an angel of the Lord blocking their path and, after being beaten for stopping, was given the ability by God to speak and defend herself, ultimately saving Balaam's life.

If he can use a Donkey, he can use Donald Trump. Of course Trump does act like a Donkey sometimes. Maybe you should read your Bible.

I’ve got a serious question. I doubt anybody responds.

What’s your red line with Trump? What could he do that would make you say “hold on… that’s too far and I can’t support this guy.”  I think that there are a lot of people here who have no such line. There’s nothing that they can imagine that would ever cause them to stop supporting Trump unequivocally.

I don’t know what that line is for me. I don’t really support him, per sé. I didn’t like him before, I absolutely can’t stand him now, and he’s doing a really good job of setting the Dems up for retaking power, which is terrifying. That said, the far left (which is somehow just becoming “the left” and driving party policy) is so indefensibly insane that I’d still take Trump over the alternative. I was fairly liberal in my early 20s. By the time I hit 30 I was what I considered a “radical moderate”, meaning I had strong beliefs that aligned with both sides. For the past decade I’ve considered myself a libertarian, but with no realistic traction in that party I vote right. The ONLY shot the right has of keeping control after the outrage Trump has continually sparked is the fact that the left has become absolutely goofy, meaning moderates and swing voters can’t just write off the right because of Trump’s behavior (and if we’re honest, shaky second term). If the Dems would get rid of all the kooks and took a hard look at Fetterman and modeled themselves after him they’d win EVERY branch in a landslide and might stay in power for the next 50 years.

Late reading this, but I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I can’t even imagine.

I’ve always been conservative… the Republican party has just moved away from me.  It’s not about fiscal conservatism anymore… it’s just tax breaks with uncontrolled spending. They no longer espouse any fiscal restraint or thoughtful  reflection whatsoever. The party that jumped all over Bill Clinton for his *gasp* immorality now worships a guy who makes Clinton seem saintly.

Unfortunately, the left is no better. They continue to pick the most extreme among them to hold office, and they’re completely out of touch with reality.

It’s why the new reoublican cry is to end open primaries in Texas.  They want to make sure that independents and moderates aren’t allowed any say in which candidates are selected to run in the general election.  They only want zealots.

But you’re right about Fetteman… what the Rs offer today isn’t palatable to the general pop… it’s just not as offensive as what the Dems keep offering.  it’s not a coincidence that Trump best Kamala and Hillary, but couldn’t beat Biden. Biden was electable, the other two weren’t.

I’m shocked!!

And you aren’t bothered by it.

Here’s the thing, and I hope I’m not stepping on any toes.  One of the posters here lost his wife last week. Person after person has offered their condolences.  People from both sides of the arguments. People with whom this poster has had differences of opinion, tossed insults, etc… but everyone that has spoken kindly regarding his loss.

What would your feeling have been if someone here had posted “good. He deserves to suffer?” My guess… no, it’s a fact that the person that stated such an atrocious thing would be uniformly blasted and rightfully banned instantly because of that person’s hateful speech. You would be aghast.

I’m sure that you’re a decent person.  What is it about Trump that makes those other decent men abandon their principles and decency? You’ve come here laugh about how Trump is celebrating the loss of an American who served faithfully in war, directly under four different presidents from both parties, and who led the FBI.

Your profile pic shows the thin blue line… you support law enforcement, but here you are giving your approval for Trump celebrating the death of one of your brothers in blue. It makes no sense to me.

I don’t get it… both parties are refusing to even address our spending. That used to be the job of the republicans.

Let’s not forget this is Robert Mueller.
