This was during early voting, and they were really, really hoping for a Trump endorsement. They’d reached out and been given the price, but just didn’t have the campaign funds to make it happen. Their opponent got the Trump endorsement during early voting and won the race, unseating an incumbent. Did the challenger pay the $400k? I don’t know. But I BELIEVE that Trump’s people asked the incumbent for that sum, based on my conversation with the incumbent’s family member. They also confirmed the story about the Rep receiving a handwritten letter from Gregg Abbott advising that if he, (incumbent, whose wife is a school teacher) voted against giving handouts to rich people who send their kids to private schools, aka “school choice,” they’d make sure that he wasn’t re-elected. Hence the well-funded challenger who could afford Trump’s endorsement. Fun fact… the challenger (now state Rep) that supported stripping money from public schools to subsidize wealthy kids going to private schools? She’s was the president of her local school board at the time, voting against the interest of the school of which she was the board trustee. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do if you want to make it to the top, I guess. She oughtta be ashamed, but alas, Trumpers know no shame. Quote

Politicians know no shame… the Trumpers don’t have a lock on this one, lol. I still have a hard time coming to grips with the hypocrisy. It’s the “Democrat Shutdown” today, and the Rs can’t believe that the Ds would hold the country hostage. The Rs do it, too… but then it’s okay. Quote

thetragichippy Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 Just paid $70 to fill up my truck. That stung a little, not going to lie, but nothing I can’t live with for a while. I’ve paid much more. baddog 1 Quote

Can you tell I was a boat owner many times over? 🤣 Couldn’t fish as often as I would have liked, so the boat sat. Always something…boat tags were out, trailer tags were out, low/flat tire, low battery, fuel and two cycle oil. I’m not telling y’all anything you don't already know. Gas prices are high but it was always the first thing I would do on pay day…..gas up. I would even keep it topped off mid week. Guy asked me why I kept it full, I said this is SETEX. Weather can change at a moment’s notice. I’m gassed up and ready to go. You’re going to that long line for gas. Like Hippy said, I’ve paid more and survived even while still raising my kids. Quote

Where do you get your intelligence from to know we have been played? If anyone thinks we are getting any type of real intelligence, they are sadly mistaken. We are getting information that is unclassified and that our enemies can’t use. Just like that IDIOT who works for CNN and is reporting from inside Iran. He is reporting EXACTLY what Iran wants him to report and nothing more…..if he sneezes wrong, he’s dead. I get intel we’ve been played from Trump’s now resigned Counterterrorism Chief. You already know this, but I'll continue because I like to "hear" myself talk. Iran poses a multifaceted threat to global stability, primarily through its sponsorship of terrorist proxies, expanding missile programs and advancements in nuclear technology. It threatens U.S. and allied interests in the Middle East via groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. One guy, however qualified he may be, ain't gonna change my mind on that one... baddog, Reagan and thetragichippy 1 2 Quote

It is not going to change mine either. I went to the source, and this was in his resignation letter: As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives. The man lost his wife and blames Israel….I get that….. There will be someone to replace him and the mission will continue and don’t take the bait of a few posters riding the rules line…..I just ignore them. SmashMouth 1 Quote
