Woodville only beat Kountze by 3 points and beat Anderson Shiro by 2 points.

If I'm not mistaking you picked one of those teams to beat Woodville last year also

If Babin leaves, WV will become a little dog. Newton is really the only “big dog”.

Newton definitely looks like the head of the district right now. I surely wouldn't consider Woodville a "big dog" after what happened last year. I think we're the only team in the district that has beaten Newton in the last decade though. And we're 4-0 against Hardin the last 4 times we met beating them by at least 30 each time. We've missed the playoffs once in the last decade while Hardin has only made the playoffs 2 or 3 times in the last decade. Last year's Hardin team was exceptional but they lost a lot of key players from that team including the guy who lead in rushing yards and tackles I believe. They have a good OLine returning but lost the 3 top backs in a heavy running offense. Defense will not be the same without Jones.

Luke Babin QB rating. 131.8  comp.% .630 Jr.

Izayah Foster 142.2 comp. % .624 soph.

Foster probably threw less than 30 passes with 85% being 10 yards or less. Stop playing 🤣

While he threw a lot less passes than Babin, he completed 73/117 passes for 1683 yds with 17 TDs and 1 int. He also averaged 6 more yards per completion. Some of that probably had to do with them having a 2000 yd rusher while Woodville’s leading rusher didn’t break 600.

He played a couple more games and padded his stats against some of the weaker teams in district. Babin put up 2 or 300 yards on the regular and still had a higher completion percentage against teams that were expecting him to pass it while Foster caught teams slipping with  payaction passes vs 10 in the box

The two xtra games were semi finals and finals.

Not taking away from Luke’s performance just showing that there is another QB that is coming on. Luke not only can throw the ball but he has the size, speed and is a honer student. He has the entire package.

Luke is a generational talent (especially for WV), but the young stud in Newton is extremely talented at the QB position and has three additional years to improve. It will be interesting to watch how he continues to develop. When's the last time Newton had a pure qb (not a run first athlete who's just at the qb position)?
