I'd love to see improvements made to our athletic facilities. But, unfortunately, I have been told the money is just not there. Quote

Don't believe everything you read. They say "no tax increase," but the city/county raises value of your house/property. Thus, your property taxes total goes up. The school doesn't change the decimal... You might ask, how does this always happen? This must be a coincidence that your land value goes up every time a bond passes. Yeah, I am sure that it is... tvc184, KF89 and myrecordwashorrible 3 Quote

If they have an existing bond—which many have stair stepped bonds—the length of repayment is just extended. So, it’s kind of a play on wording. Technically, the taxes aren’t increased. The length of time until repayment and taxes could drop because of no bond is extended. LOUD and Proud 1 Quote

Schools should always piggyback Bonds so the tax rate stays constant, but the school is always getting upgraded. Getting voters to "continue" the current tax rate is ALWAYS easier than getting them to raise the rate. OlDawg and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote

2wedge Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago If any district can be trusted to stay ahead of the growth and be good stewards, it's BH. The planning that has gone into the new campuses and sustaining adequate space when experiencing exploding growth, has been a marvel to watch. I work over here and have heard from residents that BH has only passed one bond in the history of the district? Anyone know if that is true? If so, wow is all I can say. I'm also interested to see if Enterprise or any of the other local operators is contributing to the project. I know that happens quite a bit and is a major benefit for BHISD. BH has passed many bonds over the years. In the press release it states a $300+ million bond was passed just a few years ago. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

BH strives for high standards and stewardship in every way. This is exactly why I brought my family here. The phenomenal growth is no surprise. Its hard to swallow for some that lament the "country feel" has faded away to some degree, but I take a different tact. If it (phenomenal growth) is inevitable, then embrace it and make it the best it can be. BH does exactly that. Quote
