But the person who created this thread claimed the data was factual.

Reagan's reply to someone asking who was Mila Joy, "The one stating the facts!"

So what you are saying is folks like Reagan post threads just to get discussion going, regardless if the subject of the thread is factual.

Got it.

Not sure why we need that kind of discussion here.

I guess I should be used to Reagan flooding the forum with the opinion pieces from the right.

This place is getting very depressing.

Reagan can make his own argument and IF they weren’t facts, simply dispute them with the real facts.

There are several things that could depress me, but a sports forum (even being the best one ), ain’t one of them, lol.

No doubt AI has to be fed truth or it will cause confusion on social media. Elon Musk harps on the must of feeding AI truth.

AI still has too many issues right now. People who use it without back-checking are foolish. As an example, type in the below two questions EXACTLY as typed:

  1. How many illegal aliens in Texas 2025?
  2. How many undocumented immigrants in Texas 2025?

We know the questions are asking about the exact same subset of the population. But, the AI answers—and sources—you receive will be quite different. AI isn’t smart enough to figure that out. It’s merely going on key words. Not really intelligence in my book. A big misnomer.

Not talking about the sports part of this website. In fact, it's what pays the bills around here and keeps the website free.

If it were up to me........

As I’ve stated before, I know for a fact that AI can get things wrong.  I have asked it things before that I knew for a fact were true and it gave a different answer.  So, you are right, you gotta watch it.

I like to think about political discourse like being a member of a church. If you only go to Christmas, Easter, and/or the occasional Sunday service, the church seems very typical of the community. I’d say that’s akin to the typical voter experience who only votes every 4 years.

Then, there’s the church member who is also a member of the steering and business committee of the church. This member sees the ugly underbelly of the church as a business. This can disillusion the member if they don’t remember the real reason they attend anyway. I’d say this is akin to the voter who is more informed, votes even in local elections, and participates in political discussions.

Both members are valuable to the congregation. One is much easier to deal with, and causes no qualms for the most part. But, the church couldn’t function without the more involved member.

There’s a need for a place to discuss politics, as unsettling as it may be sometimes. Many of the topics, I wouldn’t know anything about if it weren’t for this forum. This forum actually makes me investigate things. I become more informed, and whether I agree or not is irrelevant. That—to me—is a very big positive.

I don’t disagree with you but if the source bothers you then do some research and enlighten us all.

This is an opinion platform. Whatever is posted is a good starting point for an individual to do their own research if they are curious enough to know if it is true. Left or Right everyone should do their own verification.

It’s lazy to  just throw out whatever numbers off of Twitter from whatever random user and then say “prove it wrong.” How about proving it right before you post, especially if you’re going to say it’s fact?

I don’t put a lot of credibility to Regan’s post having factual data. By the same token your first link study was from 2013, and who is Propel and Julianna Lai?
