I’m not sure what our screenshot was but I’m assuming it was around 1800. We’re a large D2. D1 starts at 1903 if I’m not mistaken. 1,000 more kids would be comfortably in 6A which isn’t what I was implying. PNG turned in 1650. Top of 5A-DI is 2274. So before the number changes that’s a difference of up to 624. They currently miss the DI cutoff by 253. It would be insane to opt up from a division they’ve been succeeding in competing against schools their own size. The 1,000 spread I referred to is the bottom of 5A-DII to top of 5A-DI. Quote
jimbob82 Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM Report Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM Some more craziness in district lines, at one time and still may be today, the power house located in orange county was in the PAISD taxing entity??? Go figure that one... Quote

Multiple schools have been opting up with success. Desoto being the first that comes to mind. Hopefully UIL gets their together and we’re back in region 3 with schools closer to us in proximity. Those apartments is about a mile from memorial high school. I live in Groves. 3 blocks to the west is paisd, but I’m zoned in pngisd. My daughter “lives” with my mom to go yo memorial lol Depending on what part of Lake Arthur drive, the street it’s self is about 2 blocks from the actual MHS campus… Quote

Austin1985 Posted yesterday at 02:42 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:42 PM I posted the website which you can look at every school district boundary in the state. Look at so you won't be so confused prepballfan and FearTheSpear 2 Quote

There is a good chunk of area north of I-10 (goes about halfway up to Mauriceville) zoned to WOS. There is also part of a neighborhood south of I-10 that is zoned to LCM, which I didn't know about before looking at the map Austin1985 posted. BMTSoulja1 and Austin1985 2 Quote
dBerrySports Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago If PNG were to opt up to 5A D1 for this next round of realignment, I assume they'd be back in Region III, and if they are, they'd be sharing it with Randle (for sure) and Iowa Colony (maybe). Angleton and La Porte could move up depending on what the cutoff numbers are, but replacing them with Randle and IC would be just as tough, if not tougher. And you'd still have PA Memorial Quote

1970 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Question: How does opting up affect income for the school, if at all? Presuming larger stadiums, larger attendance, etc. The schools get a percentage of the gate, same as the Refs? Quote

It was 4 in the regular season. PNG chose to have an early release to travel to La Porte and Splendora. Those aren’t 3 hour drives. But those four days were also built in the original school calendar. So parents had plenty of time to plan. You can’t really do anything about the playoff releases. Quote

Going between La Porte & Beaumont, Port Arthur, Port Neches, Nederland, etc. isn't a bad drive as long as I-10 isn't messed up. Any further west or south of La Porte gets to be a mess as you get into more of the metro congestion. La Porte is kind of the end of the road on the east side before the metro-mess. Just don't let @Big Daddy Cool drive, or who knows where you'll wind up. Louisiana is a good bet. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
