Please watch especially close when he picks the bag up off the ground after jumping off the roof. The rifle is 3 1/2 feet long. The bag flexes quite a bit to have a rigid rifle in it. I’m sure the grainy video doesn’t help. I’ve been wrong before. Just what my eyes and brain are seeing. Reagan 1 Quote

Looks like he put something in a ledge/gutter with one hand, climbed on edge of ledge, dropped whatever it was, jumped down, and then retrieved and ran. Since the authorities found the rifle in the woods, I’d make the assumption that was it. I said it wasn’t in his pants leg first thing. Reagan and bullets13 1 1 Quote

What would have made more sense was to acquire a rifle not connected to the shooter and leave it, but it’s been confirmed we’re not dealing with a pro here. baddog and bullets13 1 1 Quote
Reagan Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago He was bragging to a co-worker while working as an electrician about being able to shoot 400 yards. Curious if his family are hunters. Was this their Mauser? If not, where did he get it. And where was he practicing. He had to be. 200 yard shot with a 5 mile and hour cross wind. Quote

He wore the same tennis shoes to the shoot as in a pic in his room. Then, you would think he would try to be stealthy, but on a white roof top, he wears a black shirt with blue jeans. Then I find out he has a 4.0 gpa. So, not really sure what to think of that! Quote

Educated doesn’t always make you a good criminal, and dumb never does. You have to formulate a plan that later on countless folks that are very smart are figuring out, almost impossible. Quote

Reagan Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago From 7 seconds to 28 seconds, is he walking to get ready to shoot? If so, again, where's the gun. Or is this a different time? Quote

It’s not a very difficult shot. If he was aiming for the head (which makes sense), it was only a fair shot. Nothing spectacular. I had my son grouping within 1-1/2” of a bullseye at about 150 yards before he turned 12. Deer Hunters shoot 150 to 200 yard shots all the time. Sometimes a lot further. bullets13 1 Quote

My heart starts beating through my ears. My hands shake, and I can barely think. But if I take just a few seconds, relax my breathing and focus, I can shoot a deer every time right where I’m aiming. baddog 1 Quote

Awhile back I had my wife in the red at 200 yds in half a box of shells, and she’d fired exactly one bullet from a rifle before that time in her whole life. This kidad’s dad is a cop. Good chance he grew up hinting, great chance he grew up shooting. LumRaiderFan 1 Quote

Like others have mentioned, 200 yds is a relatively easy shot for a lot of people. With the right scope it’s reaaaaallly easy. Awhile back I hit a plate at 200 yds 3 shots in a row with a Thompson Center Contender PISTOL that I’d never shot that had a good scope on it. Also, at the distance he was shooting a 5 mph crosswind isn’t a factor at all. Quote

Which might account for why he missed where he was shooting. It’s a very safe bet he was aiming for the head or the chest and made a bad shot and got lucky. And it’s 100% that if it were a pro taking the shot they would’ve never aimed where Kirk was hit. Why aim for a low % target when center mass is a guaranteed hit, and the head is a guaranteed kill (and bigger target than the neck)? SmashMouth 1 Quote
