The last time both teams were ranked for this game was 2021. All meetings since then have been won the the visiting team. Last time Newton came to town we lost a shootout 58-54. Thats the most points ever scored against the Mustangs in any game. Neither team is breaking any records this week. Hearing the Eagles have solid run game as usual but can't throw a pass more than 10 yards. I hope my source is wrong. I havn't had a chance to see the Mustangs personally but from what I hear this season can go 2 ways. Defense wins championships. Or the game is won in the trenches. One has to happen before the other. Can't put the cart before the horse.

I'll be on the sidelines for this one. Looking forward to a great game.

Now, where to have my pregame meal is the question. lol

Cove Harbor marina.  Not sure what the special will be on Friday but it will be good. Can always have a pizza and a beer overlooking the bayou.

WOSdrummer can probably answer this but what’s it looking like as far as Southlake Carroll overtaking the Stangs this year as the all time winning program? I know they’re snapping at the Mustangs heels .

Riley Dodge has led his team in at least 14 games each season as HC. His worst season only had 2 losses.

SLC 12-2 > .7859 (+.0026)

WOS 5-6 > .7833

Now lets look at the predictions. SLC is picked to win 1st championship since 2011. WOS isn't picked to get to the regional final game. Hickman's best season was last year at 9-3.

SLC 16-0 > .7889 (+.0001)

WOS 9-3 > .7888

1 loss by SLC keeps us ahead. But 4 losses by WOS and it's over. Once we fall to 2nd there will be no catching up unless miraculous transformation at both schools. Seeing that one changed everything and the other kept all the same traditions. Well, you can connect the dots.

Y were the old ways taking out in the first place.

It's old news and nothing is going to change what was done for the last 3 seasons. Now that they're bringing things back it has to work. Right?

If its been out for 3 years you can't shove it back in and expect it to work overnight.

So let me get this straight, if they are putting everything back after 3 years. You have any kids there thats knows how the old ways work am I correct. 80% of that coaching wasn't there during the old ways. So you really don't have and leadership to instruct the old ways. How it went, the older players seniors junior's and sophomores went ahead of all the kids the never did the drills. Coaching staff didn't have to anything because the class knew what and u copy then and if the experience class messed up then the coaches would step in get on them and the drill started all over. The discipline has to be there to.

What is the difference between a “50” and a “3-4”? What would the kids need to know differently to do either?

I believe they  were tring that 4 2 5 the first few years but its more than the 50 they took out. And if you were never in the old program it will take me a lifetime to explain it to you how much anything else that was taking out was keys to the 40 years of success before these last three years. And the former players agree. If you wasn't apart of the true wos program you will never understand what it took. And the 50 is the 3 -4  college and the nfl call it the 3-4
