Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 Only thing I'm 101% sure about is this district going undefeated 1st round of the playoffs again. 😎🤷🏾♂️ Below is my prediction from last season: I don't see anyone going undefeated in district play this season. I think if healthy we go at best 9-1, at worst 8-2, maybe 7-3, have to see how that Dekaney game goes. I have a similar prediction for this upcoming season, but swap out Dekaney for Hightower. Top-4 Lufkin Port Arthur Memorial WB/BH WB/BH Darkhorse: BU BHFAN 1 Quote

Top-4 Lufkin Port Arthur Memorial WB/BH WB/BH Darkhorse: BU Lufkin lost half of that 2024 team. New Coach Abseck, new system for the kids from the past 30 years. Building and changes take some time. We will see how this season develops. Absecks first indoctrination to play IN Longview, if you have never played there you will never forget the experience, it will live in your head forever. They will crush your spirit if they get that chance. IMO if PAM with all that talent doesn't win district and go at least 3 rounds you have to wonder how that goes for their program in 2026. Lots of talent on that team. I came away from our game last season at PAM knowing we had hung on to beat a really talented group of kids. Sometimes you just don't know what makes the difference. Barbers Hill was talented last year and loaded with skilled sophomores, that talent is still there, AND if key injures had not occurred for them last season we will never know. A new coach and optimism for them, Abseck had built something there and in many ways BH will be the benefactor of that this year. Thought a young 2024 Westbrook group looked good at times, you could see the flashes of talent, and with the right coaching could be a surprise in the district. If Beaumont United finds their offense, I thought their D was quite decent last year, another new coach. Galveston Ball may have graduated some key guys but there is some talent returning for them this year and a new coach.. I don't know much about them and Baytown Sterling. TornadoesFan Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 The new coach for Galveston ball has built one heck of a coaching staff over there. They have some key returning players especially #3 WR coming back and a few transfers. The big question is the QB position. Quote

pakronos Posted June 21 Report Posted June 21 i just don't agree with little big cuz playing QB. He was an emergency band aid to keep the turnovers down. i feel like he was doing more sandlot when he was playing. Due to all the players other teams lost from graduation, PAM should go 9-1... SHOULD. As crazy as it sounds, records like that mean there will be NO change at the top because "they are winning and getting into the playoffs". PAM will continue to underachieve until there's a new regime or you got kids that will flat out hustle, run, block, TACKLE, be disciplined, and just be DOGS and win despite the instructions from the sideline. I feel last year group showed a little of that. playing from behind in pretty much every game and coming back to win. Most will look at it as great halftime adjustments...Until you get punched in the mouth by teams that have just as much talent, but you get OUT COACHED. being tied with BU at half time was ridiculous despite the final score thats one example. pdawg119 Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 My prediction: 1. Lufkin 2. BH 3. PAM 4. West Brook 5. Ball 6. United 7. Sterling BHFAN 1 Quote
BHFAN Posted Tuesday at 01:40 AM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 01:40 AM After reading a little of what teams have coming back, BH with 3-3 returning starters and a new coach just may miss the playoffs this year. I think the top 4 may be . 1.) Lufkin 2.) PAM 3.) WB 4.) Ball Quote

OlDawg Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago When did Galena Park become 5AD1? I didn’t realize they were that big. Quote

I think the top 4 may be . 1.) Lufkin 2.) PAM 3.) WB 4.) Ball For all of my partial reasons I appreciate everyone picking Lufkin to win district, HOWEVER you must look at all the returning talent that PAM is bring back this year. I remember the Lufkin game at PAM last year, that was such a tough game, Lufkin was a senior laden team and it was a war. PAM IMO has few reasons not to be picked as the district favorite, they have 7 returning starter on O and 6 coming back on D. Lufkin has 5/5 returning and lost their whole starting DL and WR corp to graduation. They have some holes to fill. They get back their starting QB, all the RBs and OL from 2024, 2 LBs and plenty of experience back in the secondary. West Brook is going to be better than some think, BH had a QB transfer and if they can stay healthy they have a bunch of sophomore's who are a year older now. Ball still has talent and needs a QB, but their new coach is a winner and you can not count them out of anything. I think this is PAM's district title to lose, with all that talent, then after that it is going to be a lot of parity between teams with different areas they need to replace this offseason. Lufkin at BH is a huge game for the district race. PAM and Ball at Lufkin are big games. 9-5A DI 1. PAM 2. Lufkin 3. BH 4th and 5th. . Ball or West Brook 6. United 7. Sterling Quote
