So here is we’re we stand mid way through.

Tied for 1st PAM @ 2-0

Tied for 1st LaPorte @ 3-0

Tied for 3rd BH @ 2-1

Tied for 3rd  KWP @ 2-1

Tied for 3rd Porter @ 1-1

Tied or 3rd Lee @ 2-1

Crosby, Sterling and GCM all pretty much out of contention at the point.

many scenarios left but I see in no particular order PAM , LaPorte, BH and Porter in the playoffs.

I think KWP ruined their own playoff chances in that debacle versus Porter, they literally giftwrapped the game to Porter late.

It might come down to KWP having to beat us here in PA week-11 to make the playoffs unless they do the unthinkable and knock off LP and/or BH.

Any thing is possible at this point. I thing we cruise to our bye week then coming out we have KWP, PAM and Porter. Any slip ups here and we could be watching the playoffs

GCM and Sterling have been out of contention for the last 5 years. Not sure I would write off Crosby just yet.

Stranger thinks have happened, but Crosby has already lost to BH. Lee and KWP.  They still have PAM , LaPorte and Porter. Highly unlikely

I still worry about LP against any solid passing attack. KWP—with Sims in the Pistol—is more dangerous to me than Fuentes. Sims is a containment threat. Fuentes wasn’t really a running threat. If LP pressures, they better have a spy or two. Get practiced up with it also. Porter’s QB is tough as well.

KWP took down LP last year & made them look silly in the process. That’s the game LP lost Lawrence for the season.

No way the KWP vs. LP game is a given.

Solid passing attack??!

Aint nobody in that district throw it nearly as good as BH and LP just handled them.

Yes. KWP has a solid passing attack. Maybe not as pure as BH. But, they have more of a dual threat QB.

60% completion rate isn’t bad when you factor in the scramble yards of Sims as well.

You are correct these are different teams. I hope it’s a different outcome.

BH passing attack was off in the 2nd half because LP made adjustments, shut BH down, and totally dominated the 2nd half of the game.

Period. End of story.

Agreed. We had some drops in the first half that we’re uncharacteristical, but the 2nd half LP was in the backfield and our receivers were covered.

I don't think so. Y'all will win every game in R2 by 17+.

Man...there are some really dynamic and defensive teams out there in Region 2.  PLus, we haven't put together a solid game yet. Defense showed some flaws when Lancaster scored 35 on us. We will see how it looks on Friday when we play Forney.

  • 2 weeks later...

I really feel sorry for who ever is 3rd in this district if they have to go to Forney...you guys are going to get hosed....worst officiating I have seen in a while. You can see it in both the Longview and Lancaster games...both teams way outgained forney and had penalties occur at the worst possible times when they were driving for a score...they don't even try to hide it.

And will get a TD even when the foot is clearly out of bounds (seen that in the LV game)

Yeah but during the playoffs don't coaches agree on a officiating crew? They could get a crew from west or central Texas. Shouldn't be a problem.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
