  1. Lived that life as a Lobo fan but came out on the positive side. We were up by several scores against a Waco Midway team and then their RB ate our lunch in the second half. We went for 2 in OT because we knew out defense was out of gas. I watched the second half...thought it was a gutsy call...BH defense was out of gas...
  2. I wouldn't take it that way from YOU. Again, I think someone made the point earlier, it comes down to which BH team shows up. I also don't think Richland is a pushover but we will see. This is matchup has me intrigued....same with Longview and Reedy...going to be a good weekend of football in Region 2. Good luck to you guys. Would love to see both of us get to round 4.
  3. I am with you on this one. Longview kneeled out the clock inside their 10 yard line and could have scored more but didn't. When it comes to scoring, it is about offensive types and matchups. Look at Porter and the two outcomes...different teams and different match ups. For this game, I do think it is going to be a good one. I think as long as BH doesn't come out flat, they should have a solid shot at winning.
  4. Porter ends the night with 84 yds total offense 32 attempts for 14 yds rushing 6 of 16 for 70 yds passing
  5. That is pretty impressive. Lancaster has a P5 running back. Holding him in check is huge.
  6. !!:49/0/H You've alerted the ScoreboardBot: Score Alert: Longview(49) @ New Caney Porter(0) Halftime

  8. I knew this would be a good game. BH just needs to keep grinding away. PA/Forney seems to be a good game as well. Longview is up 49-0 at half.
  9. I think so as well...PAM is going to have to play physical defense from the jump. PAM has the athletes to frustrate and beat their defense but they can't do that if they don't have the ball.
  10. You are correct, I can't let go. They are supposed to be neutral. I hope they get refs from outside the metroplex.
  11. The kid they use at halfback/TE is a stud. He wrecked some havoc early on against Longview but we adjusted. The RB is great. As long as the LBs keep everything in front of them, you guys should be good....but if they get rolling...can be hard to stop...
  12. Only thing I can say about Forney is that they are not unbeatable. Both Longview and Lancaster were able to move the ball on them. LV yardage 330 to 158 Lancaster yardage 418 to 220 Both of our defenses were able to hold them in check. It is the refs and the turnovers you got to deal with. The Forney defense (and refs) in the redzone are very hard to score on.
  13. McKinney North has an excellent running back and a gun slinger at QB. They will go tempo and run up and down the field if you let them. Offensive scheme is balanced when needs to be. The defense is not the best. BH should win this by 2 TDs or more if the defense plays strong.
  14. New Caney Porter upsets Barbers Hill in a strong second half performance and gutsy defensive play. For their effort, they have a long trip to #2 Longview. How do you see this one playing out?
  15. LaPorte vs Lancaster - This will most likely be pretty high scoring game. I think turnovers decide it. Longview vs New Caney Porter - Longview's defense will adjust to the running game and pull away for convincing win. BH versus McKinney North - If BH can stop the run, they win...pretty simple. Forney vs PAM - the most interesting game of the 4. Regardless of what refs they pick, PAM will be playing the zebras too. PAM's athletes will give Forney trouble but Forney is a complete team.
  16. Lufkin 21 Lancaster 21 with 9 min left in the 4th. Lufkin has to win by 6 to get in.
  17. Really looking forward to these first round matchups. The defenses in our district have seen some really good running games. It will be interesting to see how they matchup in the first round. Play-off teams McKinney North RB Jayden Walker – Army (going to West Point) Lancaster RB Kewan Lacy – Nebraska Forney RB Javian Osborne – offers from USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington Longview RB Taylor Tatum – Oklahoma Non play-off teams Lufkin RB Kedren Young – Notre Dame Tyler High RB/WR Derrick McFall – UCLA
  18. The most dangerous game of the 4 will be BH versus Lancaster. Lancaster is finally healthy and rolling. Of all the teams in your district, BH is the one that is built to beat them. But BH is going to have to play a solid and consistent game to put them away. I see BH winning by 14-21. If they let Lancaster hang around or have trouble with Lancaster's talent, it could be interesting. The only thing that could change that is if Lufkin pulls the upset tonight which would surprise me.
  19. Silsbee by 21. Tigers are going to expose that secondary.
  20. Yep, but I really hope these coaches are smart enough to insist on a crew that is not from DFW of any sort....
