Local 4A District Updates

Records are shown as Wins/Losses/Ties. GD stands for goal differential. GP stands for games played. I will update this every Monday and Wednesday (after games are played). For the points, I'm assuming each district gets 3 points for a win, and 1 point for a tie. For the GD, I don't know the policy for District 21-4A, so I'm assuming all goals count. In 22-4A, you're only allowed up to +3 per game, but you're allowed an unlimited amount of goals against that count towards your total. I'm getting all results from MaxPreps and/or Twitter.

Buddy coaches at Huffman.  They lost a ton of starters last year, and had 3 of their seniors go out for the season before it ever started.  They've also played a very tough schedule.  They seem to be turning the corner, tying EC the other day, which is a fantastic result.

It's also nice seeing my alma mater, HJ, improving.  they went about 3 seasons without winning a game, and were losing every game 10-0 or worse.  to see them picking up a few wins, and only giving up a couple of goals a game is tremendous improvement.

Playoff scenarios for District 21-4A (not official, just me going off of the standings as of now):
 

Clinched a spot: Jasper, Lumberton, LCM

With a win on Friday, Jasper will finish first. 

LCM can finish in first if they win on Friday and Jasper loses. They would win the tie-breaker with Lumberton

Lumberton can finish in first if they win and LCM loses

HJ will take the 4th place spot if they win, regardless of Silsbee's result. They would win the tie-breaker over Silsbee.

Silsbee will take the 4th place spot if they win and HJ loses.

 

Playoff scenarios for District 22-4A:

Clinched a spot: EC, Splendora, Liberty

EC can finish in first if they win either of their last 2 games, or if Splendora ties or loses any of their remaining games. 

Huffman and Liberty can finish as high as 3rd place depending on results.

Anahuac can get 4th if they win against Liberty, and Huffman loses their last 3 games.

21-4A don’t sleep on Hardin Jefferson. Second half of district those guys have played like a team on a mission.

Last nights win for EC clinched first place in 22-4A. Splendora is locked into 2nd, and 3/4 will be Huffman and Liberty with the order being decided over their last few games. 
 

Technically, Anahuac has an outside chance of taking 4th, but that would require Huffman to lose to La Marque who hasn’t won a game all season

Congratulations to both Lumberton boys and girls. They both beat Jasper Friday night, boys 1-0 and girls 9-0 and perfect in district. Good luck to all the district playoff teams.
