I highly doubt that. In fact, I don't think we (Texas) would be able to secede without a bunch of other states wanting to secede with us.

We might have to build a wall around the whole state to keep those left behind out. That could be costly.

Do you mean the U.S. would have to send aid which essentially means returning so much of the money that the Texas economy provides for the Federal Government?  The Feds might miss the Texas contribution substantially.
