Coaching Musical Chairs About to Start

Really good article.  So..Westlake and Lake Travis are two highest paid coaches in Austin area?  Where have I seen those school names before...Austin Westlake.  Austin Lake Travis.

Oh...that's right.  They're both playing in the 6A title game this coming weekend.  What a crazy coincidence.

Yes. It's gotten better the past few years. Can't vouch for Lee, but GCM and RSS are active at the feeder schools.

We really need a 6th Jr High and have 2 feeder schools for each high school. Not happening any time soon.

What??  When you say better and active at the feeder schools what exactly do you mean?

Not saying the district doesn't pay well, because you are right as a whole the pay is great. But, $70-$80,000 is not the kind of money to attract a big name. I know of many smaller districts in the area that pay that or more.

I agree that starting should be atleast $90k. Most districts pay coaches according to their tenure that district which might inflate the numbers a little.

No. I assume you are saying it does not happen.

I cant say it doesn't happen because I am not there. But i have 2 kids there playing the Major Sports, football, basketball and track.  I stay very involved with them and Neither could tell you who a single coach at GCM is other then 2. One because one of them played on his basketball team out side of school and the other because the 8th graders went to GCM a week or so ago and he introduced him self.

It could also be that the coaches on that staff were not allowed to go out to the feeder schools. That I have heard from multiple people and a principle.  IDK hope it changes for the future.

We're talking AD/HC right?  And 80-85 is at or above average for a ...what?..6A school in this area?

If that's the case..Then yes that's terrible.  I really don't believe that that's much more than quite a few very small or much smaller schools even in this area.

3A Hardin pays their AD 83K

I don't believe 85K for GCM is average for the area for a 5a/6a program.

PLEASE -PLEASE don't let Fairycloth leave PNG!!!!!!!

A new guy could have enough experience and knowledge of areas other than the QB position and ruin our 6 game butt kickin of PNG:)

Seriously -  no way they  would consider him as he has not been successful at PNG his only HC stop.

GO DAWGS

Success must be relative. I mean Faircloth is 42-26 in his time at PN-G. He hasn't had the postseason success or the success against Nederland. That, I'm sure, is what is ultimately held against him. Be careful what you wish for if you're a PN-G fan and you want him outta there.

That being said, if he did go to SLC as the OC, I think he'd do a great job. Incredible offensive mind.

+10,000  agendas are bad business and can make you say some really crazy things.

Bru, you got the 10,000 number right.  Make a change and you'd see a 10,000% increase in Ned's defense performance.  BTW, not an agenda here other than the hope of Ned's defense would be better coached.

    • Cohen……a lying, backstabbing pos who does nothing but lie every time he opens his mouth. Let him utter words the prosecution wants to hear, and we can convict. Cohen told his ex advisor that he wanted to kill himself. What a worldly loss that would be. Let anyone on this board be put through the wringer with false charges and lies like Trump has had to endure, and you would be screaming at the top of your lungs how illegal all of this is.
    • It was and remains perfectly timed and choregraphed Kangaroo Court, whatever Cohen just said or lied about.  Face it, under Soros installed Biden and Merrick Garland, the USA is now officially a Bananna Republic with a Goverment that weaponizes itself against and destroys its political rivals. Putin and Xi are SO proud!  Dang I miss Democracy.
    • I haven’t been watching closely, but even the liberal sources even tell the story as “the defense really took apart Cohen’s testimony on Thursday.” It sounds like sloppy work from the prosecution to point out a specific call as being “the one,” when it was easily concluded that this particular call could not have occurred the way that Cohen (and the prosecution) claim it to have happened.    The bad news is that I doubt that it matters much-I suspect that most jurors minds were closed before testimony started.   I don’t see Trump leaving with anything less than a conviction based on the venue (NYC).
    • Tough case all the way around.  The guy had a lot of online activity come out where he made racist statements and statements about killing BLM protesters and looters.  So when he then goes out and does it, it looks really bad.  I've seen a lot of videos where people have driven through protestors, defended themselves against them, etc., and didn't bat an eye.  This feels different, but that doesn't necessarily make it murder, either.  His account of the events that happened vs. the witness accounts were both very different, but I'd also expect both sides' accounts to be self-serving and inaccurate to fit their narrative.  Not really sure what to think on this one.
    • @CardinalBacker   Wanted to get your thoughts on how Cohen did as Bragg's star witness..... My Take: The State spent two days acknowledging that Cohen lied all the time but now he has come clean,,,,,,,it took the defense (having same evidence state had), just a few hours to confirm Cohen lied to the current jury a couple days ago......  While I thought initially Trump would be found guilty due to venue, with best case a hung jury, there is now a pretty good chance he will be acquitted...... Thoughts anyone??   This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
