Guys we know Lumberton does no wrong! Lol

I guess the pic didn't pull up for you. Btw, the mask came loose from the helmet and broke. The kid had to get another helmet to finish the scrimmage. It's no big deal but don't try and make it look like something it isn't by making broad assumptions.

Correction... Lumberton players do wrong just like the opposing players.  I've been impressed with how the Lumberton coaches have addressed each situation as it happens.  That's all you can ask for as an athletic supporter is for coaches to hold these kids accountable for their actions so they can learn.  After all, athletics is supposed to help mold them into respectable young men and women who can contribute something positive to society.

I really wouldn't call that a fight last night, but I may have been in Jasper from what Mr Silsbee is saying. I know the tussle in the previous scrimmage was started by someone that got tired of getting pancaked and ripped someone's helmet off in retaliation. I'm sure I will be now informed that the Silsbee player's hand was attacked with the Lumberton player's facemask tho. Pic courtesy of the Lumberton Ledger.

there was a little fight towards sulsbee sideline later in the live part. But it got broke up before anything really even happened and Lumberton coaches made the player go on the sideline

Guess I was in the wrong place.

Must have been.  3 receivers wide, QB in shotgun with one back in the backfield with him.  That is what I saw the entire game.  In fact, what contributed to a number of the HJ turnovers were the fumbles on the shotgun snap.  A completely different offensive set from the one HJ employed the last couple of seasons.

Any word on the injured kid from HJ? Continuing to pray for a full and complete recovery.

I heard that he was undergoing surgery this afternoon.  Bone broken just above the ankle.

Had a few friends say I'm dumb, so I have to admit to paying a little, or a lot, of attention to the Lumberton side of the ball. HJ did indeed run the spread. Maybe the injury to the young man short circuited my brain a little. Any injury to a high school student is definitely a time for reflection. Here's to a great season for both teams and a speedy and full recovery to the injured young man. On the fighting topic, maybe coach can teach the kids to quit attacking the other team's hands with their face masks. ;-)

Well, if you were paying to the Lumberton side, you must have been pretty happy with what you saw, although you should have seen the alignment at least for a little while as Lumberton linemen were getting into the HJ backfield pretty quickly after the snap.

I also was distressed to see the young man from HJ with the injury.  First, you hate to see any young man enter his season.  But when the EMTs were dispatched there, it rose the level to alarm and you went from hoping he would play again to hoping he is physically okay.

As to the fighting, I think the dust up over the dust up yesterday is much ado about nothing.  As you can attest, it really wasn't the bench clearer that some have made it out to be.  If the level of the dust up in Silsbee was no worse...and for all of the comments in that thread, I am not even sure any fighting was mentioned...I'd think that there is another attempted mole hill raising.
