The Eagles, 9-3 on the season, reached this round by defeating New Waverly 46-6 in bidistrict play and Dublin 56-13 in the area round. Meanwhile, the Lions, 10-1 on the season, reached this round by besting Garrison 57-13 in bidistrict play and defeating Maypearl 51-13 in the area round. The winner of this game will face the Crockett/Rogers winner in the Region III final.
