Corrgin Camden @ Kountze

I watched them in person when they scrimmaged Woodville. They are beatable. Their front seven is one of the better 3A front sevens in the area. They aren't huge, but they're aggressive and smart. Their tailback is probably the best true running back Kountze will see all year. Their offensive line has perfected the term "block as a unit". They are strong, but a little undersized. The key to a win for Kountze is to exploit their questionable secondary. CC has all the speed in the world to beat Kountze. But the technique and football IQ of the secondary is lacking.

Woodville threw and ran the ball well against CC. And our defense, other than a couple big plays, was fairly successful too. Stack the box on defense and get your passing game going and it will be a good game. But if CC gets rolling on offense, look out. You don't want to get into a shoot out with this team.

We scrimmaged them in scrimmage #2 and that's about how I'd sum it up.  Played 2 live 20 min quarters and they were tough to stop , but they never stopped us.  Their OL is impressive IMO , not the biggest but solid all the way across and strong probably a solid 200-220 lbs. all the way across.  They have the tunnel sweep down to perfection.  Had a LB that was pretty good sized and had good sideline-to-sideline speed.  Backs are fast and run hard.

As someone stated earlier, this is a great matchup of contrasting styles. Kountze spreads you out and gets players in space and doesn't mind slinging it downfield. CC on the other hand is pure smash mouth small school East Texas football. CC has played Trinity who is a much improved club as well as Centerville who's the Region III 2A-D1 favs. CC wore both of them down in the second half. I'm not sure that CC will contain Arnold, Harper and Warren all night because those kids can go. On the other hand I feel very confident that Kountze will not be able to slow down the Bulldogs offense. Taking nothing away from HJ and Shepherd which are very good higher classification teams, but I can assure you that Corrigan will be more physical than both those teams. Before I get yelled at, I know they system HJ runs and I know they pound on you with big bodies. These CC kids are flat out nasty, block thru the whistle and hit you in the mouth every play. Mitchell and Arnold cancel each other out offensively in my mind. I'll be pulling for Kountze again but just don't see them slowing down that in your face running game.

Kountze - 36

Corrigan-Camden - 54

Corrigan will get their points. Corrigan has played 2 very good teams and hung a lot of points on them. Best of luck to Kountze, but I see Corrigan comng out on top 57-35.

seen film on all of CC games this season...They are a good team, but if you think CC is gonna roll into K-Town and do a beat down...better bring breakfast, lunch and dinner, because its gonna take all day!  Taking nothing away from CC but Kountze has played some guys I think CC would have faired no better playing.  This game is gonna get physical and should stay close for 4 quarters.

Corrigan has been in close games 2 of the 3 games played. That is until the 4th qtr starts and other teams fold. I am not saying Kountze or "K-Town" will fold I am just stating that we have playe close until it matters. Who gave up 35 pts in the 4th last week when it mattered

Against a completely different style offense and bigger stronger players with quite a few injuries.. Yea we got wore down in the end

I have watched my Deweyville Pirates play CC for the past 4 seasons. Kountze has a chance to win this ballgame if they are determined and conditioned enough to play ball for a full four quarters; haven't seen the lions play this year but if they want a chance at winning they will have to keep from having any turnovers. CC is excellent at playing hard nosed disciplined football. They win tough games by not turning the ball over and not running out of steam in the later parts of the game.

IMO

Corrigan-56

Kountze-28

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
