ECFAN#1 Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 I wouldn't cash that 10-0 check yet.... its liable to bounce One of your checks bounced already so you're on the no cash check list. No one will take your checks or credit cards until you prove you have good credit. That might be Nov 7 but odds are your credit score goes down in flames. You might have to file for chapter 7. AggiesAreWe Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 With Warren JV having success this season coupled with the fact that Warren varsity is mostly junior driven (only a couple of senior impact players), I see Warren being a major player in 12-3A next year. warparty Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 There is no reason we shouldn't compete. We have the ingredients physically just need to work on it mentally. Babin is working on that. The kids themselves need to start believing! Bighornet 1 Quote
eagleswoodville#1 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Report Posted October 31, 2014 Congrats! I had no idea Warren's JV has done that well! But it's awesome to hear they're starting to have some success! Quote
GeauxMe Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 I don't believe it has anything to do with teenagers believing. start with Your parents and community. The players will play if the coaches coach. warren need(s) or needed a culture change because once you lose for so long, that becomes second nature. you'll never have the athletes that some of the other teams in this district have, but two helpings of heart will go a long way. that being said, I don't believe Warren will ever compete for district championships, but may sneak in a fourth or third here and there in the future. Only time will tell Quote
whsalum Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 The Warren school district stretches across a vast rural landscape. When you get right down to it football has just never been real high on the communities list of cultural activities. In the day and age we live in where everyone gets a ribbon I don't see coming in 3rd or 4th in an 8 team district as a huge accomplishment. I hope the younger group in Warren is successful over the next few years. Quote

Your stock is holding steady but Black Friday is coming soon! EC better bring their A game. Turnovers and penalties will kill you in a game like this. Whoever wins will definitely have to work for it and will make both teams ready for playoffs. Praying for no injuries and all 4 teams making a good run into the playoffs. Quote
rykerx144 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Agreed! neither one wins this one without mistake free A game... if they are not evenly matched they appear to be pretty close. The winner of this one is the team that don't turn it over, plays their A game and gets big stop on defense when it counts! My Wildcats against my Alma mater! Tough one for me! Quote

Spurger wont even entertain the thought of a football program. Woodville struggles as well with support for football. Quote

Spurger wont even entertain the thought of a football program. Woodville struggles as well with support for football. I truly think it's because of the diversity in Woodville. Not the diversity in race or ethnicity. But just the diversity in different types of people. We can't be defined as a "football town" or any other sport or event for that matter. We kinda have a little bit of everything. Which, in the grand scheme, is a good thing. But it makes it kinda difficult to be consistently successful in any sport. Quote
ECFAN#1 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Nooooo. If we keep agreeing with each other then this thread is going dead. Someone hurry up and say something disputable. LOL I would do it myself but I'm allergic to crow. I'll eat it if I have to though. I'll take one for the team. LOL Quote

I agree it has nothing to do with race....I lived in that area, with the exception of a little basketball that area does not support anything school related. I think its cause it is so rural. Kids in town bluff, fred, hillister, etc... travel so far to school it takes away a lot of the support. Even in Spurger they have a school but it seem more like an afterthought of the community. I don't know..hard to explain Quote
rykerx144 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Word is that the Cats are firing again on all cylinders. Practices have been more intense and focused. I think Buna woke them up.... would not want to be the one taking that trip north! Quote
jwbassman Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 No matter how bad it pains me, I'm going to have to pull for EC in this one. ONLY because it puts Buna in a better playoff situation. With that being said it will be a real test for EC to go into Kirbyville and win, I don't think they can do it. The top 3 lose their road games, to each other. Good luck to both teams, play hard and come out injury free for the playoffs Quote
