rykerx144 Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 nobody is overlooking Buna....geeezzzz' Just because someone has the opinion that Kirbyville or EC will win district does not mean they are overlooking Buna. Buna is a very good team and would not surprise me at all if they won district. Quote
kcat-fan Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 We have 3 very good teams which are currently 5-0. I don't think any of these are being overlooked, at least not by me. Quote
kcat-fan Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I'm actually rethinking my previous predictions for the top four. I think Buna will beat EC and take 2nd. I don't think that they will beat Kville. Quote

CJ04 Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 . Ec beats buna and kirbyville. That's a bold statement my man! Quote
WildcatBacker Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I get kinda perturbed when I see people saying "Oh 'this' team would beat 'that' team easily.." and such as that when there's absolutely no way of knowing, given the fact they won't play each other that year.....so I won't do it now. I will only say that I wish Kirbyville had played WO-S and H-J this year. I will say though that no team left to face Kirbyville in the regular season will have a chance of beating them. EC and Buna will be tough games and Kirbyville will have to be ready for them, meaning they won't be overlooked, but the Wildcats WILL be 9-0 going into the game against EC and they WILL be 10-0 going into the playoffs. We are not quite back to our state championship game runs yet but we are close. Kirbyville and the rest of the district are just two different animals. Quote
oldschool2 Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 . Ec beats buna and kirbyville. Let's just agree to disagree. Quote
jwbassman Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Buna hasn't played EC in a while so not sure how they will match up. The game against Kirbyville last year was a close one with the Cat's taking it 18 - 15, Buna had 2 TD's called back on penalties in that game, so we shall see...... Quote

We are not quite back to our state championship game runs yet but we are close. Kirbyville and the rest of the district are just two different animals. I agree with Kville beating Buna. But there's not a huge difference between the top 3 in this district. Then Kountze/Woodville/Anahuac are the "competitors". Warren/Hardin the bottom two. But Buna, EC, and Kirbyville are all extremely good 3A football teams. Quote
WildcatBacker Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Buna and EC are good football teams. They deserve all the credit and props they get thrown their way. But Kirbyville is the only 'extremely' good one. We're almost back to playing at the level we were during the last few Alavarez years and that's just a fact. When we're at that level, then it doesn't matter how good some teams are, they just won't beat Kirbyville. The best they can hope for is to keep it somewhat close, like Orangefield did. I know this is high school football and anything can happen on any given night (as WO-S found out this past Fri) but Kirbyville will not be beaten in the rest of this regular season. I'm not saying we'll blow everyone out, but a W is a W. Quote

You talk about how it perturbed you and then you do the very same thing that perturbs you. LOL You have absolutely no way of knowing who will win out of the three teams and yet you make predictions. You better start cooking that CROW up like you want so it will be ready for you. How about that, did it perturb you. LOL :D Bighornet and FarmersFight 2 Quote
jwbassman Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Spot on EC Fan, there is no silver platter in this district. If, and that's a big "If" Kirbyville goes undefeated, I will be the first to congratulate them. Buna and EC will both have something to say about that happening..... I for one am not ready to give them the district championship, much less a state one!! Quote

ECFAN#1 Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 A lot of good information on calpreps... I would not believe all the information on calpreps. Just like Maxpreps and Lonestar I would verify as much as I could before I took it to the bank. Quote
Javelina Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I think I would believe the strength of schedule rating they have. Kountze has the second hardest strength of schedule behind Dangerfield. Kountze Opponents record 24-2. 4 teams played still undefeated Quote

My predictions of Kirbyville beating Buna and EC will have their shot because we WILL play them. Try to pay a little closer attention before making a fool of yourself. :-D Quote
