That's because the only news the local media is reporting about BISD is bad news! Smh... So no other district in the golden triangle has issues or problems? Of course they do but, you will never know it watch the media in this area.

I agree with you

Throwing stones from a glasshouse, I see. Aren't you an WO-OCISD guy?

I watch them all but the school I pay taxes to is a very good school when it comes to education. If I paid taxes in BMT I would be very upset! I vote on content of character when I go to the ballot box!

The issue isn't whether other districts have had scattered improper incidents, the issue is that BISD has one improper incident after another. It's constant, and it needs to stop. The biggest thing I see is that the leadership at BISD (and apparently some community members) are so arrogant as to think they can still do whatever they want. Hence the hiring of Atkins. It was disclosed at some point, and that information wasn't given to all of the board members. Once again, a few in leadership are believing that they can hide info from others, in order to accomplish whatever it is they have on their agenda.

Don't do anything newsworthy and there won't be any news.  The fact that they are continually having issues keeps them in the news.  Not that other districts don't have issues, but they take care of them and move on, rather than trying to cover it up or make excuses or try to point the blame at someone else.

So Kirbyville didn't just have a teacher that had his credentials revoked for improper relationship with a student? Revoked not suspended and isn't dude facing criminal charges? How many news articles and local news stories did that situation produce? Smh...

You can say all you want. Being that you're a Lumberton guy tells me that I'd expect a comment like this from you.

Also, its amazing how many 'Clark Kents' that we have hiding in the phone booths. Are some of these guys not allowed to answer a simple question? Smh.

I would be more concerned about all the Beaumont folks......BISD is not popular in it's own town. You could go to a school board meeting and see that.....if they will let you in.....As for me being in Lumberton, my property value continues to rise because of the stupid things BISD is pulling.......

Not all distrcts are perfect........but BISD leads the way in corruption at this point........

Never had a problem getting into a board meeting. Not sure where you got that nonsense from.

Property value rising for you? Good for you, guy. I know several in the real estate that also states that their property value has risen. Moot point.

BISD leads the way because of what the media reports. Majority of the local media I can almost guarantee are NOT from Beaumont.

How does that matter?  do you think someone from Beaumont wouldn't report on all of this?  The reporters don't make choices on what is reported its their management.  If a reporter from Beaumont wouldn't report this doesn't that contribute to the problem?

Keep blaming others........It has nothing to do with Calvin Walker, Jessie Haynes, Devin Wayne McCraney, Sharika Baksh Allison or Timothy Chargois. If those biased media reporters would just leave you guys alone, everything would be perfect......and Devin could of finished that remodel on his home........SMH

So let me get this straight. Some of you peeps believe that the majority of BISD's problems are blown out of proportion, made "mountains out of mole hills", treated unfairly by local media and if any other local ISD had these same issues, the media and others would treat them differently, correct? smh

Please post any news to any local school district that recently had their admin offices raided by the FBI, had the TEA pull it's accreditation and was in business with a local company who swindled them out of millions of dollars.

...but in Nederland, there was 1 article of Neaumann (sp) crying for a raise a few years ago and maybe 1 article of Regan Hawkins. In beaumont, those articles get ran or posted over and over again.

There was more than one article on both in multiple news outlets.  Both were taken care of,  Hawkins was promptly fired, loss his certification and is in jail where he belongs.  ( I say that knowing him, his wife and family personally) No one was hiding things from board members or crying wolf because the media was reporting it.  Neumann got a raise and is going for a fourth straight DC.  He wasn't crying, he was looking at other options most likely to get a raise out of NISD.  Not that uncommon.

Question, since when is it scandalous for a coach to be asking for a raise when he/she clearly deserved the raise? ;)

We all know why the things BISD does get blown out of proportion in the media. Simply because the leaders of the district are black. And most of you all hate that for obvious reasons. With all this said BISD will continue to be the most successful and hated school district in the area. It's really simple though if you don't like BISD don't send your kids there.

Wilmer Huthcins and North Forest had FAR more issues that just acedemic performance. Read the wikis.

In the 1970s, the State of Texas threatened to revoke the district's accreditation. Due to misuse of district funds and fraudulent elections in the 1980s the Texas Education Agency threatened to close the district. In the 1990s, for two years the TEA took over operations of WHISD

Its easy to shut down EC schools and move them to HF school district...its not easy to shut down the biggest district in your area...take a look at HISD do you think the state will shut them down with the issues they have!!

Wow, i was wondering how long it was going to take for that card to be played.  Yeah, it has nothing to do with the FBI or TEA coming in who couldn't care less what color the board is but the fact that people are breaking the law.

That's comical at best.

I guarantee if the FBI raided the admin offices of Lumberton, PN-G, Nederland or any other "majority Caucasian" run school district, it would be in the news just as much. Same with the TEA issues.

What?  Once again, pointing to scattered incidents to make your point.  Are you suggesting that HDISD has had as many issues as  BISD?  If so, you are very misinformed.

You must be on the board, in the admin, or know someone who is. What a stupid post.

Yeah, all these things are happening because the leaders of BISD are black.  Get out of here with that weak crap ozenfinest.

If that demonic media would just leave BISD alone, no one would know about any of this stuff and BISD could get away with it.  That's the result some of you would enjoy.
