Turf shoes??

I have looked on every website known to man. Looking for turf shoes size 2. This is for a 9yr old. We are new to this turf play, or does it really matter that turf shoes are needed? I've heard many opinions any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

With the field play turf, I do not think turf shoes are useful. Probably the opposite.

If he pitches i believe they are required to wear turfs on the turtle shell mounds. Could be wrong though. I just thought i remember that from years ago..

You just can not pitch in spikes on the turtle mounds. In that case, any "flats" will work. Baseball Express has several styles of baseball "flats".

Most kids buy Boombah turf shoes because they think it's cool looking. You can get team colors. Don't really care for them, but may not find a size 2 anywhere in that kind of shoe.

Just about any tennis shoe will do the exact same job. My 14 year old prefers tennis shoes to turf shoes and he does just fine.

Thanks for the input yes he will pitch, he has soft cleats but I will get some other type of shoes for that. Boombah starts at size 4, thanks again for y'all's input

I see just as many tennis shoes as i do cleats and turf shoes.  I've seen several complete teams that only had tennis shoes... rebok zigs, nike running shoes, whatever.  In my opinion a good cross training shoe would be best.  A running shoe doesn't give the support for side to side motion, whereas a cross trainer is designed to support the foot from rolling over when you plant and change direction etc.  And that really is what the turf shoes are, they just have a different sole.
