UCF wins this game if their starting qb is healthy.

you can look at it like that or you can look at it like if LSU wasnt down all there starters it might not have even been close,

they had a WR at CB for crying out loud

This UCF team is really good. I don't think they are the typical mid major whiney ass wanting in. If they hold on today that 26 in a row and both years would have beaten a premiere SEC school. They are good.

Yea ACC or Big 12 need to go ahead and let them in

You hit on the points that kept this from happening previously. Travel times/costs would be negligible considering most current games would be in your division, so mostly 1 hour differences. The B1G is also a fit, no doubt.

But I fear you underestimate the level of regard in the sec. I wouldn't be surprised at all for them to kill a deal with UT and ou.

    What you mean?

^^ That's all pretty accurate. None of the UT stuff is happening till the GOR expires and I still lean toward going independent after that. The issue is what happens with ou. We're tied at the hip with them for now, and likely could end up going to the same conference when the Big 12 dies.

Another legit possibility is going to the PAC, creating a 16 team league. UT, Tech, ou, and Okie lite in with the Arizona schools, Utah, and Colorado in one division, then the Pacific coast schools in the other. I could did that as well.

Ugh If I’m Texas I’d rather the Big 10, stronger conference all the way around, plus pac 12 travel would be brutle, plus the game times

Conferences are in business to maximize profits for their teams.  Tv revenue is the main part of that.  For instance the SEC Network charges $1.30 /month for instate and $.25 for out of state.  Adding A&M and the almost 8 million households in Texas increases their profits $8 mil a month just from 3rd tier rights.  That doesn’t include 1st & 2nd tier that will also be renegotiated.  Adding another team from Texas doesn’t help that number.

As for adding Texas to the SEC, it won’t happen.  There is a block of schools that don’t want multiple teams from their state and will vote together to keep them out.  Their best bet is the Big 10, but they will have to drop their network.

Houston’s problem is that they are in Texas and don’t add much TV money.  If the Big 12 does expand, they will go out of state and add more TV’s.

If you Think the SEC won’t jump at the opportunity to Add Texas your just in denial,,,I hate how cocky Texas is to, but come’on Man, an opportunity to add a brand that big, I doubt the SEC doesn’t use that avenue, and even if it is a block, they’ll look for a way.

But I doubt Texas wants the SEC, you go from being able to make the playoffs every year to, maybe once every 5 with the tough schedule .

I wish there’d bring the old SWC back

In re: Big XII expansion, it depends upon what Texas wants to do.  Regardless of OU fans arguing that the Sooners control the Big XII with championships and playing on the national stage, it is Texas that controls what happens in the Big XII.  Texas is the Jones family and everyone else is trying to keep up.  Texas can control its own destiny at any stage of NCAA conference realignments.  Texas could go independent (if it so chooses; they have the money and fan base to do it with no problems), the Horns could stay in the Big XII, they could ease over to the Big X, prop-up the Pac-12, or they could join the SEC, if they wanted to do so.  There is not a conference in college sports that would decline Texas.  OU is handcuffed by the state legislature in Oklahoma.  Wherever the Sooners go, too many politicians in Oklahoma want the OK State Cowboys to follow.  The OK State anchor puts a lock on what OU can and cannot do when it comes time for conference alignment.  If the Big XII expands, contracts, or stays with the status quo, it will be Texas that decides the answer.  The Horns have the peso, thus, they have the say so.  TCU, Baylor, KSU, Kansas, OSU, TT, ISU, WV, and even OU to a lesser extent, should follow the model of Tiger Woods' golf caddie, "Show up, keep up, and shut up."  Everything else will take care of itself.  For UH, we need to keep our Tier I education status, keep our football, men's basketball, and baseball programs on solid ground, keep improving attendance, keep improving facilities (sports and other), and keep building the brand under Dr. Renu Khator and Tilman Ferttita.  Do all of that, and expansion will take a good look at you.

    Go Indians.  Go Coogs.  Peace.

Good analysis, one thing is for sure, the big 12 has to do something or its not going to last long..

(But from what I'm hearing Texas doesn't  want anymore Texas teams in the conference due to recruiting issues) I feel Texas is just overthinking it. Yes UofH will bemore appealing but your still Texas, I guess it'll kinda be like TCU, they'll get some guys but you'll still most likely have your pick of the litter

I'm not sure if Dana Holgerson is coming to UH or not, but the rumor mill at Houston says DH has a house in Houston, he enjoyed his time at UH during 2008-2009, he has been to UH since the Cougars upgraded facilities (TDECU Stadium and the new indoor practice facility) and DH told the UH admins that he could see himself at a new gig with new facilities, he can recruit Texas and Louisiana for the speed he likes at skilled positions, and most important, he and Tilman Fertitta have had some discussions in the past week.  If Fertitta wants it to happen and DH is serious about returning to Texas, then Fertitta will pay the price (insert joke here, i.e., pay the price with Landry's gift cards or poker chips from the casinos, etc.).  Supposedly, DH is leaving WV one way or the other.  The AD at WV wants "his guy" and DH does not like the cold weather (he's a guy that does not like to wear shoes that often; he's a shorts and flip flop guy with lots of cold beer in hand)...plus, WV has refused to give him a pay raise and an extension.  In the end, it's about $$$$.  We'll see how it shakes down.  If not DH, then I hope UH goes after the coach at Troy, Neal Brown.

    Go Indians.  Go Coogs.  Peace.

If this happen this may be the one of many dominos to fall in ref to UOFh AND Big 12 expansion

I've waited awhile to post my thoughts on this game but I feel like it will be a good measuring stick for going into 2019. Not many are giving UT a chance to play UGA within 15-20, but I have confidence in Tom Herman's ability to get his team ready for a big bowl game and I have confidence in Todd Orlando to put a good scheme together defensively. This will be a physical game no doubt, and as usual, whoever wins the turnover battle should get the win. I expect CJ and LJH to play well and I hope they come back next year. UGA will no doubt be the best and most physical team UT has played this year but realistically, Texas is the type of team that has proven this year that they can beat anyone yet they can lose to anyone depending on which team shows up. More than anything, I am excited for the direction this program is headed and I'll take my Horns 27-24 on Tuesday night! I think this group of guys are pumped about playing a team most thought deserved to be in the CFP and want to make a statement!

I think the same thing. Giving the success OU had against Bama, I think Texas will do fairly well
