1. This Houston Chro article sure does not make it sound like Nav ran over LaMarque if anything sounds like LaMarque had a shot at winning this game. [Hidden Content]
2.
WO-S simple hasnt been tested. for thier non district games they played a bunch of over rated four A teams that think theyre good bc they beat up on each other. If any of those teams would step out of SETX to play games in the preseason they would get a taste of what football really is. then they play in a very weak district. Then have had a cake walk through the playoffs. The only quality team they have played is Jasper. But they played them early in the year so thats not the same Jasper team that navasota drummed.
I do believe one of those overrated SETX 4A team just knocked out #1 Ranked Pearland Dawson last night. The Golden Triangle has been wooping up on Houston area teams for many many years. I have yet to see a rattesnake kill a mustang, they tyipically get stomped !!! If they are anywhere near the Ennis 2000 squad , then it'll be a whale of a game.
3. Not a problem in Nav scores 24 as long as WOS scores 25 .
4. I won't say that the stang defense can shut down the Nav offense, but I will not be surprised if they do. WOS On Offense, there have only been fleeting glimpes of what they can do. All of the playoff games have been very conservative, eat up the clock game plans. The coaching staff knew if we played mustang football we would win. Not really focusing on shutouts , but wins.  WOS 21 NAV 14
5. Super game Stangs !!!!! We beat the Lepords and Zebra's tonight. Several really bad calls by the back judge and some flagrant calls missed by line judge.
6. Most of this reel is against 4A teams, one of which is still in the playoffs.
7. Headed to Waller to support the Stangs, Good Luck to Silsbee, Nederland , Newton and Orange Community Christian .

They're too good for Silisbee
A team that loses to Jacksonville shouldn't scare anyone.  ;) Silsbee is not Jasper. ;)
No but a team that blew out the defending D1 champs and has won 3 of the last 4 championships should
HAHAHA..... a defending D1 state champ that went 3-7 this season and all of their losses were blowouts..... don't beat on your chest to quickly.
Chapel Hill could win Silisbees district. I wouldn't beat your chest.  Carthage has something that Silisbee ain't seen all year. East Tex SPEED
Better take a look at the 3A state track results for the last several years ! Southeast Texas worn it out, WOS , set national HS records and Silsbee always matchs up well with WOS as far as speed.
9.

Navasota's O-Line is what sets them apart of all the other teams.
Navasota's O-Line is Huge, but slow... and will get worked by La marque's D-line just as coldspring oakhurst did.. Its one thing to Blitz the QB to try to get pressure, but when your D line is do dominant you can keep your LB's back in coverage and let your 4 down lineman rush... it only takes an off balanced throw or mistiming for our Defense to make a play. I love how once again, everyone has counted la marque out of the picture without giving them fair chance. From what i've seen on film, Navasota has about 4 REAL threats. 2 RB's that are big and shifty in open space, 1 WR that is long and can jump for the ball in air, and 1 safety that plays both ways on offensive and defense (which is an interception waiting to happen).... We've done the homework and are well aware of what we need to do to win this game. I just hope if la marque should win or even if la marque should lose in a close one, that you not only respect our past tradition but respect the fact that we can compete with anyone. We've been doing it 2 years straight with 3A numbers in a 4a district. These 44 - 14 score predictions are ridiculous.
I for one have always respected LaMarque's history and the talented well coached teams they have had thru the years. WOS was in a very similar situation in 4A, we were one of the smallest 4A schools in the state and still making deep playoff runs. There are many very good programs in this region it will always be a tough road to make it out . I don't count Lamarque out on Friday, good luck to the coog's and hopefully we can take care of business this week and see you next weekend.
10. Will take a good 2 1/2 hours. Traffic going out 290 will be a bear at that time.  I have a daughter that lives in cypress and have made that trip many times. Sometimes I take 610 North when I get into Houston, may be better at that time. If you stay I10 and if you have more than one person in the car you can take the 290 HOV , which will get you past alot of the traffic.  You can catch that just before you get to the wset side 610 North exit.
11.
is that the year thay won state
I believe they did go on to win state that year. I saw that game , as well as most other WOS games since the mid 80's. Wimberly had a great game plan , and executed it. WOS had a very large talent edge. But that talent will only get you so far.  Our OC during those tears did not utilize the talent that WOS had, just look at some other loses during those years, Giddings and Gilmer come to mind. IMO WOS should have a few more Championship Troph's in the case.    I don't think coach T will take Lorena lightly,  We have the talent, we just have to execute. We did not execute to our potential last week, could have been a shutout. Offense plan was good, "eat the clock" .  I have'nt even looked at Navasota , that will start Late Friday night.
12. Yep Looks like a SC highlight reel. They are good at what they do. How did Vidor rack up 440 yds on the ground. SC defense must have some holes in it. Looks like if Vidor could have hung on to the ball, it would have been much closer. Good luck in the playoffs SC, maybe we will see you at Jerry's Place.
13. After watching WOS completely dominate Cleveland last night, I can't see them having any problems stopping a run oriented offense, does not matter what set they run from.  WOS  played a scrimage agaist Vidor very early in the season. And held their own, Vidor put up over 400 yards on the ground agaist a very good SC team last night. If the stangs can contiune to play with the intensity they hit the field with last night - Dallas here come.
14. Routine 1st Quarter for Stangs. Just keep those Zebra's in check.
15. Looks like were going to have to play the tigers and the zebra's
16.

This will be a good tune up game for both teams going into the playoffs and bragging rights for District Champion. Nothing more. Silsbee is in the same mold as Jasper teams, always have some good talent and speed, but not disciplined and their conditioning is never to WOS standards. When the fourth quarter rolls around their hands will be on their knees. 1st half will be tight, but the second half will be the difference.  Stangs by 14, Silsbee may score , but it will not surprise me if they are shutout.
Good post M&Mstangfan.  I hope the WOS "WORRY WART" (skippy) can find someone to read your post to him.
I don't post much, but read alot and always enjoy the banter. I was a West Orange Chief long before the Mustangs started their quest. I've watched high school football in southeast texas for over 40 years, I've followed all of the area teams on Chamionship runs. Coach T is a longtime friend and I've always been proud of what they have done with these kids. We are blessed to have the coaching and the support from the communities that southeast texas brings, each and every Friday night. Whatever the outcome in Silsbee on Friday night, we are all winners.

18. Plain and simple. If both teams play their best game WOS will win. Turnovers could decide this one, hopefully the officiating will not. Just hoping we have a good clean injury free game. Go Stangs.....
19. Smoking Baby must of gotten hold of somebody's crack pipe.  I interpreted the Bullard artice this way -- We were shut down on offense, and the WOS offense scored at will.
20. Congrats to Coldspring, They played a complete game. I picked Kville by 14. But Kville could not stop the run. I was surprised that Ford was shutdown, Kville had to live on the long ball. CS defense did a great job.  Kvillie defense on the field way to long, they played with a lot of heart but just were worn out by the end of the game, I think that allowed CS to score the last touchdown and the one that was called back. Good Year Kville, we will see you in 2011.
21. BR thew a couple of passes that hurt us, and over threw one that would have been a TD early in the game. But their passing game is not sharp.  The one long ball they completed was a sloppy defense play by us inside the five yard line, we had them on a fourth and long from our 35 and they completed that pass which I believe set up the third touchdown.
22. I'm for southeast Texas Football. I'll back my Stangs till they get bounced. We had a good season, tough on the young men but it's over now. Several area teams lost last night , we need to rally behind the remaining teams and support Southeast Texas Football. Kville - Stay focused on the task at hand. As you well know any team can go down on a given day. You can not afford to take anyone lightly. I'll be there Friday Night pulling for the Cats.
23. Roberts was on the side line, the word was he had a concussion.  We had a very good year , in light of all that this team had to endue. We just had to many errors in the is game, 7 turnovers . My comment all week was if don't hang on to the pumpkin it'll be tough to win. Don't want to whine about the refs but there were some poor calls. I was at the game and it appeard the Williams moved on every play before the snap. They only called it a couple times. Also got some terrible spots,  1 inch on two different occasions and this game was a Win for WOS. I expected Willams to do well , he is very good. We were not wrapping him up. He is the team, if they lose him they have nothing offensivly, their defense played a good game. I can't see them making it much farther I'll be pulling for Kirbyville to make a run. Will be at the game next week in Beaumont.  Go cats...
24. It's 3:45 , Headed to the game to support out young men.  Lets go get'em stangs.
