1. Appears nothing has been done, [Hidden Content] Hope he has someone watching his back.
2. My brother graduated in 1977, as a West Orange Chief, his class was the last . So the 1st Mustang class would have been 1978.
3. Had he not been hurt , he would have been punished for 3 more qtrs. He's a punk and should be suspended for the rest of the season.
4. WOS was looking for a game, At least Keenedale was willing to put their team in a place that only the mouths of the east Texas teams are willing to go. If , if's and but's were candy and nuts it would be Christmas all year long. WOS will bring another state title home for Christmas this year.
5. Now that was put down right there. Skip has much more intelligence than those guys .
6. Skipper. Don't stop , I don't post much but I always look forward to and enjoy your point of view.
7. Ditto that, I've not heard a better duo broadcasting Highschool football in my many years . Not just football , all Highschool sports . If you see Gary , thank him, or send him a message on KOGT Facebook page.
8. Just can't see a wing - T having much success against the " chain-gang ". Can't see many defenses slowing down JD , KJ, JS and an stellar offensive line. The entire team is on a level few teams ever achieve . If I have one bit of criticism , too many needless penalties . WOS wins this easily and could possibly have the 5th shutout of the season.
9. Congrats to Jack and family ! Well played Lamar .
10. Like I've said before , when everything is said and done , normally a whole lot more said than done.
11. Alot of talk about if points will be scored against WOS and not about winning the game. When all is said and done , normally there is alot more said than done .
12. This cat TrueFan is clueless , CT left that program because he had an agreement with the school board on how he would run his program . But the board bowed to parents after practices started . Left him with no choice but to leave. And as far as WOS's winning tradition , it's exactly what Kicker stated . Many other teams in Setx have similar and even better talent , so what's the difference . The program , hard work and discipline . These kids grow up winning and expect no less.
13.
I will be the first Navasota fan to admit WOS has a nasty defense.  Playmakers all over the field.  Navasota is going to have to play its best game to win.  If WOS is going to win they are going to have to play their best also.  If Navasota executes and doesn't turn the ball over they will win.  If WOS creates turnover and turns them into points for the offense they will win.  I am just hoping for a good game.  I don't think we have to worry about WOS players acting like thugs as LaMarque did.  I think Hooks would put an end to that crap first.  Should be the best 3A game of the year.  Either way both teams have had a great year.  It is fun to talk a little smack to each other, but in the end we have no control of the game.  Good luck WOS and air up them basketballs (just joking).  Travel safe and be loud.
Dan Hooks has retired. But the enforcer at WOS has always been Cornell Thompson, He is now head Coach and he will not stand for the players showing anything but class, just ask J Rhodes after he did his little end zone celebration and got flagged, he paid dearly for that one. I'm looking forward to a great game. This is Texas football at it's best. Just hoping for a good clean, injury free game. This one will have some hitting going on for sure. I don't mind refs throwing flags as long as it is equitable. Last week I can only recall Lorena being flagged one time. And as you said holding happens every play.  I think they just felt sorry for the big fella ( QB ).
14. Skipper , You are on the money. I watched several highlight reels on them this weekend. Lot's of holdong going on and did not appear the refs were calling any of it. Hope we do not have the same crew as last week, those guys were terrible. We may have to put Dan on the sidelines just to chew on the refs. Without all that holding going on WOS DL will be taking handoffs from the Nav QB . He sure won't be sitting in the pocket picking targets. I'll give them some prop's they do have some talent on the team, but I sure don't se 40 points like the Nav posters are predicting.
15. This Houston Chro article sure does not make it sound like Nav ran over LaMarque if anything sounds like LaMarque had a shot at winning this game. [Hidden Content]
16.
WO-S simple hasnt been tested. for thier non district games they played a bunch of over rated four A teams that think theyre good bc they beat up on each other. If any of those teams would step out of SETX to play games in the preseason they would get a taste of what football really is. then they play in a very weak district. Then have had a cake walk through the playoffs. The only quality team they have played is Jasper. But they played them early in the year so thats not the same Jasper team that navasota drummed.
I do believe one of those overrated SETX 4A team just knocked out #1 Ranked Pearland Dawson last night. The Golden Triangle has been wooping up on Houston area teams for many many years. I have yet to see a rattesnake kill a mustang, they tyipically get stomped !!! If they are anywhere near the Ennis 2000 squad , then it'll be a whale of a game.
17. I won't say that the stang defense can shut down the Nav offense, but I will not be surprised if they do. WOS On Offense, there have only been fleeting glimpes of what they can do. All of the playoff games have been very conservative, eat up the clock game plans. The coaching staff knew if we played mustang football we would win. Not really focusing on shutouts , but wins.  WOS 21 NAV 14
18. Super game Stangs !!!!! We beat the Lepords and Zebra's tonight. Several really bad calls by the back judge and some flagrant calls missed by line judge.
19. Most of this reel is against 4A teams, one of which is still in the playoffs.
20. Headed to Waller to support the Stangs, Good Luck to Silsbee, Nederland , Newton and Orange Community Christian .

They're too good for Silisbee
A team that loses to Jacksonville shouldn't scare anyone.  ;) Silsbee is not Jasper. ;)
No but a team that blew out the defending D1 champs and has won 3 of the last 4 championships should
HAHAHA..... a defending D1 state champ that went 3-7 this season and all of their losses were blowouts..... don't beat on your chest to quickly.
Chapel Hill could win Silisbees district. I wouldn't beat your chest.  Carthage has something that Silisbee ain't seen all year. East Tex SPEED
Better take a look at the 3A state track results for the last several years ! Southeast Texas worn it out, WOS , set national HS records and Silsbee always matchs up well with WOS as far as speed.
22.

Navasota's O-Line is what sets them apart of all the other teams.
Navasota's O-Line is Huge, but slow... and will get worked by La marque's D-line just as coldspring oakhurst did.. Its one thing to Blitz the QB to try to get pressure, but when your D line is do dominant you can keep your LB's back in coverage and let your 4 down lineman rush... it only takes an off balanced throw or mistiming for our Defense to make a play. I love how once again, everyone has counted la marque out of the picture without giving them fair chance. From what i've seen on film, Navasota has about 4 REAL threats. 2 RB's that are big and shifty in open space, 1 WR that is long and can jump for the ball in air, and 1 safety that plays both ways on offensive and defense (which is an interception waiting to happen).... We've done the homework and are well aware of what we need to do to win this game. I just hope if la marque should win or even if la marque should lose in a close one, that you not only respect our past tradition but respect the fact that we can compete with anyone. We've been doing it 2 years straight with 3A numbers in a 4a district. These 44 - 14 score predictions are ridiculous.
I for one have always respected LaMarque's history and the talented well coached teams they have had thru the years. WOS was in a very similar situation in 4A, we were one of the smallest 4A schools in the state and still making deep playoff runs. There are many very good programs in this region it will always be a tough road to make it out . I don't count Lamarque out on Friday, good luck to the coog's and hopefully we can take care of business this week and see you next weekend.
23. Will take a good 2 1/2 hours. Traffic going out 290 will be a bear at that time.  I have a daughter that lives in cypress and have made that trip many times. Sometimes I take 610 North when I get into Houston, may be better at that time. If you stay I10 and if you have more than one person in the car you can take the 290 HOV , which will get you past alot of the traffic.  You can catch that just before you get to the wset side 610 North exit.
24.
is that the year thay won state
I believe they did go on to win state that year. I saw that game , as well as most other WOS games since the mid 80's. Wimberly had a great game plan , and executed it. WOS had a very large talent edge. But that talent will only get you so far.  Our OC during those tears did not utilize the talent that WOS had, just look at some other loses during those years, Giddings and Gilmer come to mind. IMO WOS should have a few more Championship Troph's in the case.    I don't think coach T will take Lorena lightly,  We have the talent, we just have to execute. We did not execute to our potential last week, could have been a shutout. Offense plan was good, "eat the clock" .  I have'nt even looked at Navasota , that will start Late Friday night.
