2. 27-7 Orangefield in their 2 quarters against Hardin.
3.
Not sure about PNG, but I have one I played against in HS that is a no doubter from his school: Jeff Granger - Orangefield class of '90.  QB on FB team and at A&M...400 Meter State finalist...All State Baseball and played baseball at A&M and on team USA and for the Pitsburgh Pirates. Also a guy from SFA right before me that was a great two sport star was Allen Griggie. 1000+ yard RB on some great teams and could hit a baseball a mile! Graylon Johnson was also a beast on the gridiron and on the basketball court at SFA.
More on Jeff Granger: Football: In his senior season at OF (1989 football season) he was all state QB and ranked as the 2nd overall QB in Texas.  Was the starting QB for the South in the annual all star game and threw a TD on the South's first play from scrimmage.  At A&M he came off the bench in 91 when Bucky Richardson got hurt and threw 4 td passed against Tulsa.  In 92 led the team to a 4-0 start and top 5 ranking.  He recieved a concussion later that season and decided to give up football knowing that baseball was his meal ticket. Baseball: Was an all-american his senior season (1990) and led OF to the state tournament.  Most people remember him as a pitcher but he also holds the state record for consecutive games with a hit at 42 and at that time was one game short of tying the national record.  At A&M had 251 career strikeouts in 220 innings breaking Roger Clemens SWC career strikeout record.  Drafted 5th overall by the Royals in 1993.  Played mostly in the minors with a small stint in the big leagues.  His professional career never really panned out due mostly to nagging injuries. Also in his senior year at OF placed 3rd at the state track meet in the 400M. He may not be the best baseball or football player or track athlete to come from this area, but as an overall athlete, he is definitely one of the best to come from Southeast Texas.
4.
Pretty much rule out Jefferson and Harris. Too many teams. Chambers: BH, Anahuac, EC Liberty: Liberty, Dayton, Cleveland, Hardin, Hull Daisetta Hardin: Lumberton, Silsbee, Kountze, H-J Orange: BC, WOS, Vidor, LCM Jasper: Buna, Kirbyville, Jasper, Evadale Newton: Newton, Deveyville, Burkeville Tyler: Warren, Woodville, Colmesneil So thats the mental Mapquest in my head. Could very well have omissions and/or errors. Please correct! Apologies for whatever I missed.
Orangefield is in Orange county as well.  In the early 2000s I know that OF, BC, WOS and LCM all made the playoffs in the same season, just don't remember the exact year.  Don't know if there has ever been a year when all 5 OC schools made the playoffs.
5. Big win for Coach Adams and the Lady Bobcats!
6. Story of this scrimmage was Vidor's defensive front 7 dominated.  Overall Vidor was as good or better than advertised. Should be another special season for the Pirates. Liberty looked ok. They have some good size and speed. They will compete for a playoff spot. Orangefield has some work to do but they will be ok. I think two years ago we scrimmaged Vidor and did not get a first down but ended up 7-3 on the season. I look forward to seeing improvement next week. Good luck to the Pirates this season. I'll be pulling for you guys every week. See ya next week Liberty.
7.
This is subject to change but the last i heard Vidor's scrimmage was scheduled for 4pm 5pm and 6pm and liberty is also supposed to be there.
That's correct. That's what Coach Smalley told me yesterday. Varsity starting at 6 and Liberty is to be there too.
8. Tarkington wins 3-0 (25,20 25,17 25,17)
9. Felman Malveaux from HF was the best I played against.  Went to Michigan.  I played safety at OF that year, I remember taking what seemed like about two back steps when the ball was snapped and he was already by me!
10. 75 kids!  That's the most OF has had in while.  Glad to see the numbers up.
11. Best I played against was Dexter Hebert of Kelly.  I remember watching Anthony Byerly as a kids, he was great.  Also Butch Hadnot of Kirbyville, he was a stud!
12.
lumberton sabine pass forest brook galveston ball orangfield
If you're going to put Orangefield down, atleast spell it right!
13. Congrats Coach Willis, she is an OF grad and former OF asst under Ancelot.
14. That pre-district schedule is brutal!
15. Good Luck Coach Benefield!
16. Yes will be the same offense tweeked a little.  I would think there may be a little more passing.
17. I'm hearing more kids are coming out this year.  I hope so, that has hurt OF the past few years!
18.
Sorry but this is what's wrong with Southeast Texas "fans." Excuses, excuses and more excuses of why they can't go to games. Games are too early, it's too hot, etc. The best game since returning the program had the smallest crowd. The win over South Dakota. I can't tell you how many people told me it was too cold to go! It was in the 50s!!!!
Very true!  I can say I've been to every home game since football was brought back and unless it's something beyond my control I will be at every home game this year.
19. Jacob is having a good summer with the Santa Barbara Foresters batting .348 with 3 HRs and 11 RBI.
20. Guess we'll have to start our tailgating a couple hours earlier!
21.
La Marque supporter here.... Can someone tell me about Coach Foreman?  We just added him to our staff and I know he was at WOS.
This will be a change for him. I was told he was going to be the defensive back coach at La Marque. He's pretty much always been an offensive coach. He was the OC at WOS. His dad was the DB coach at WOS. He's great with the kids they all like him. Good addition to the La Marque staff.
22. She recently coached at Kelly. She has coaching experience.
23. Congrats to former Lady Bobcat Katie Sanders on being named the new Orangefield girls basketball coach.
