  1. WELL PLAYED Young Men, WELL PLAYED !!!

You Finished It ..... You all worked very hard, gave it everything you had and won this state championship with dignity, honor and respect. You earned it and deserved it, this one is yours forever. You maintained your composure on the field as a well disciplined team should and represented SETX with class. The Mighty Mustangs are the pride of Southeast Texas. I'm sure that as each of you looked up into the stands behind you it was obvious that you were very well supported by the football fans in SETX ( we had your back ). Numerous schools were represented and the Mustang Nation greatly appreciates the support. It was a Great ride and an exciting one. The year 2015 will be one to remember and will be talked about for years to come thanks to the determination, hard work and accomplishments of this football team. The Mustang fans asked you for a State Championship and you delivered. Thanks for the memories. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you and your families.

  2. I have watched these Mustangs throughout the season and the past 5 weeks of playoffs. They have made some mistakes on the field during the playoff games but always find a way to overcome. They appear to thrive on being in the position of "win or go home". They have faced adversity and punched it in the mouth. They play with heart, never give up and believe they can win any game. I have watched them grow as a team and continue to improve the past 5 weeks. I believe they are in the perfect position right now because every game is "win or go home". They are a team of destiny and the winning continues. GO STANGS !!!

  3. Personally, I haven't seen Gilmer play so I won't comment on them except that they have an excellent record. Some posters seem to feel that Gilmer is unstoppable and will put up 40+ points on the Mustangs. I don't see that happening if the Mustangs play up to their full potential. As stated before, it is all about matchups. So, throw all of those records and points out the window and let's settle this Friday at noon. I'm sure both teams will be ready and both will bring it. Remember these words: "On Any Given Day, Anything Is Possible". The Stangs have talent, heart, determination and have proven to be a very resilient team.  So, Let's Get Ready To Rumble !!!

  4. I had hoped that by now the "haters and doubters" would stop putting up unnecessary posts, but there are still a couple of them hanging around. WOS prepares for one game at a time and will be very well prepared for Sinton. The coaches are diligently grading film and working on the game plan this morning while we post comments on this site. The fans and supporters of WOS have seen the results of this preparation throughout the playoffs and it is obvious that (as previously stated in another post), this is a TEAM on a mission. This TEAM is talented and well prepared along with being physically and mentally tough. They are going to give you 4 full quarters of physical and mental anguish on the field. This team has dealt with adversity and punched it in the face. THEY believe, WE believe and if you have watched them play then YOU will believe too. Simply put...WOS wins this week and next weekend will be preparing for the final oppononent of the 2014 football season.  BRING IT ON !!!!!!!

  5. Hopefully the "Haters and Doubters" now believe what WOS fans have been telling them throughout the playoffs. WOS does not have to rely on 1 or 2 players (with great stats) to win a football game. WOS is a really good TEAM !!!. The offense is hitting on all cylinders and the defense is creating havoc all over the field. Still have a few things to cleanup and always have a few tweaks to make. WOS WILL be ready for every game, one week at a time. Coach T will see that they are prepared. WOS has dealt with different types of adversity the past few years and have become a mentally strong team in addition to being very talented. They have heart and believe in themselves. Whoever lines up against them better be ready to play a full 4 quarters because even if you get a lead, WOS will still believe they can beat you and most probably will. They are geting better every week. If you are still one of the doubters, then you need to come to Conroe Moorhead Friday night. Don't stay at home on the computer posting unnecessary comments on this site, come see a real TEAM play, become a believer like the rest of us who have watched this team develop.  WOS wins again this week.

  6. I haven't posted a comment in a long time but I read them all the time. I have watched many, many SE texas football games for the past 45 yrs because I love the game and the competition. I must say that this is the worst crew in stripes I can recall watching. In addition to bad calls, they ALL seemed confused when trying to discuss a call and sort it out. I feel for the kids who played their hearts out tonight. I do not believe any call in particular altered the outcome of the game. The better team won tonight and I believe that even with a good crew calling the game the outcome would have been the same. THe score may have been different, but WOS was the better team tonight and WOS would have won anyway. HJ needs to work on a passing game, it will be needed in the playoffs. I would like to commend both teams for fighting through the adversity in this game and continuing to play hard throughout. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

  7. First of all I would like to say "THANKS" to the WOS Mustangs for a very enjoyable ride to the 4th round of the playoffs. Second I say Congrats to the CS Trojans on your victory tonight. These were 2 very talented teams who knew they would have to bring their "A" game to win tonight and the team with the least mistakes would advance to the next round. Both of these teams have had turnover and penalty problems in the previous playoff games. The CS Trojans stepped their game up tonight and in my opinion played their best game of the playoffs so far. They knew that is what it would take to beat the talented Mustang squad and they took care of business. CS Trojans--You have our respect.
I would also like to say to all of the fans that left a little early, you missed a fine exhibition of good sportmanship (from both teams) at the end of the game. You could tell by the way they shook hands and slowly walked through the line congratulating each other that their was a mutual respect for the way they had each played the game that night. I admire the players on the field and the coaching staffs for teaching them discipline and respect.
Good Luck in your next game CS-O.
The BLUE and SILVER will be looking for you in the playoffs in 2012.
  8. It is time to head to the game and put it all on the line. The talk is over and it is time to walk the walk. I can assure the CS fans that if you have a better team tonight the WOS fans will respect that. WOS has a very long history of being successful in Texas high school football and is well known and respected throughout the state. Mustang fans also respect good football teams regardless of where you are from.
I have been a WOS fan since it became WOS. They run a very disciplined and respected program. I hope both teams play tough tonight without injury and also don't have the penalty and turnover problems we have seen pop up during this playoff run. I want to see a good game and may the best team win. WOS has always taken on any competition who was willing to play them. "You have to beat the best to be the best". GO STANGS !!!!!!!  See Yall There, I'll be wearing BLUE !!!!!!!
  9. Shea Landry will be fine. The kids will love him. He will respect the kids and I hope they will respect him. Some high school teenagers ARE punks and I'm sure any mature parent knows that. Anyone who follows high school sports knows that some teens lack the discipline that they should have received at home. Shea has coached high school teenagers at other Orange county schools and they respected him and loved playing for him. He has even coached elementary PE classes at Orange county schools and there were no complaints. I think WOS is lucky to have someone like Shea on the coaching staff. If all parents will come out to enjoy the games and let the coaches do their jobs, high school sports can be a very enjoyable experience. Let's all support the Orange county teams and new coaches for the "love of the game" and wish them well. GOOD LUCK SHEA !!!
  10. Just finished reading 13 pages of posts on this particular topic. I would like say Congrats to the WOS Mustangs for another winning season and an exciting one to. It went down to the wire tonight even though they had a bad game and these things happen in high school football. Turnovers in the playoffs will chew you up and spit you out!!!
To all you dedicated Kirbyville fans--GOOD LUCK. I will be there to support you now that my Mustangs are out. I was really hoping for the rematch but it was not meant to be.
I appreciate the kind words from most of the Kirbyville fans and to the ones who can't seem to be kind I hope you grow up one day and learn to appreciate the game and the kids who pour their hearts into it. If you are retaliating to bashing from another individual, then please learn to be a bigger man and let it go. Some people get on these sites for the wrong reasons.
However, most of us are really dedicated fans who are into this sport for the "love of the game and the kids who work their butts off to be the best that they can be". We all want to win or we wouldn't be fans.
KIRBYVILLE---we are counting on you to now represent our little corner of TEXAS. If you do play in Beaumont, as previously stated on another post, I  hope we pack the house to support you with TRUE FANS from all over East and SE Texas.
  11. Congrats to the Wildcats on your win over LaVega. We need you to win one more next week and then get ready for the rematch. SE Texas is waiting for this one. Stangs are focused and will take it one game at a time. Just the anticipation of a Kirbyville--WOS rematch is exciting. I know a lot of fans have this one on their mind. No disrespect to the upcoming opponents of Kirbyville and WOS, I'm just a dedicated fan who believes the Mustangs have what it takes.
  12. PantherZ,
That's some BOLD statements from someone who doesn't know very much about the stangs. A smart man would not say "will not beat" when your talking about high school teams in the playoffs. Let's just all be happy that our teams made it to the playoffs and if they get beat then so be it. WO-S has had their share of upsets over the years and there have already been some shockers in this 2010 1st round. With that said, I would like to now say good luck to the WO-S Mustangs and the Kirbyville Wildcats, hopefully we will meet again.
  13. I have attended many games in this stadium since the early 70's. I have been a devoted WOS fan for many, many years. I have experienced some disappointing losses during district rivalries and playoff games, but those were just games and we could always say "wait till next year". Tonight we experienced a loss that was almost unbelievable. We lost a comrade, a soldier and a competitor who loved the game. As I was leaving the stadium I felt as if I had just lost a good friend. I didn't even know Reggie Garrett personnaly, I only knew him by how he performed on the field. I would have to say he had heart, passion, ability and character. He was a leader and he will be missed. I would like to offer my sympathy and condolences to the Reggie Garrett family, relatives and friends. To Mr Reggie Garrett I would like to say you made your mark and you will be remembered. Thanks for the memories and may God Bless You.
