Pretty sad when Jasper doesn't even have a chance to make the playoffs. Nevertheless, I am excited they made a hire that has had success and will bring some excitement to the program. Also, hope MB stays. I saw some good signs on defense under his watch. Long ways to go to climb back up the ladder. I can tell you that Jasper does not like to lose to a couple of those district opponents at all (and frankly we should never lose to the other 3 imo--though HF has been salty the last few years), here's to hoping for a shocker and us squeaking into the playoffs.

Joaquin has always been tough one for Shelbyville.

Jasper’s offense is a lot like Silsbee’s. Fast and athletic. One difference is Jasper has bit more size on the lines. been a while since I have seen a team dominated the way silsbee was. That was shell shock that they just never recovered from. If jasper can trade scores early it should be a good game. i watched png vs LH last year. Slot T can be stopped if you can make them grind it out and make some mistakes. some say it is boring, but I love to see a team do their thing well. That is what sports is all about. Walkoviak told me once he would have won multiple championship at jasper had he ran the wishbone at jasper instead of the veer. Interesting thought…

It was no knock against Franklin. Squeezing by Woodville and beating Diboll by 2 TDs is not in the same realm as what Bellville did to Silsbee in my opinion based on what I believe I know about football in SE Texas. And for what it is worth, I hope Bellville is not better than Franklin because that would give Jasper a shot at an upset. If Bellville is markedly better than Franklin then Jasper is in for a long night I am afraid.

Makes more sense for Cleveland and New Caney to be in the Humble district to me. This 6A region over here can be shifted in so many different possibilities that it is just a huge guess on what it will look like. The 5A realignment looks pretty realistic. Except Lufkin sure sticks out like a sore thumb these days. No one for a couple counties for them to play in district anymore it seems. I bet they stick them in the same group they are in with those mesquite schools and tyler. Then Crosby can slip over into the district with BH.

Looking at level of competition and results I wouldn’t be ashamed of saying I think Bellville is better than Franklin this year. But we shall never know.
