  1. That's a nice article. It kinda gets my heart racing, thinking about how cool that whole event will be.
  2. People will show up if it is free, and LU will still make $$ on parking & concessions. As a bonus, they might even get a few new fans in the process.
  3. Hiring SMG seems to be more of a waste than anything. That group has done next to nothing for getting acts to come here, and yet we still have to pay out the nose for their services. Added to that is the point that Dennis brought up about the fans in this area (sports fans, music fans, whatever), being so fickle. Advanced ticket sales for most events in the area are typically slow at best, which tends to scare most major musical acts away. Yes, there have been some exceptions, (Cher, Hillary Duff, etc.), but by & large, Golden Triangle fans will get their tickets on the day of the event, which makes it difficult to book acts here, whether it is at Ford Park or any other facility.

  5. I like the addition of this topic. Now if we could just get one for Lamar Football!! :?
  6. Whether Nederland makes it to the playoffs or not, I'll follow & support PN-G, if they should go.
  7. Nederland had considerable damage to their stadium, but it appears that it will be in safe, game-condition for this season.
  8. For the most part, I agree with these. The only adjustment I'd have is to somehow make room for: Michael Boyd Dustin Hood Eric Cammack Brian Sanchez Curtis Parks
  9. Ahhh, I see. I really liked it on the sleeves. I wish they'd bring that back.
  10. Yeah, it was a lot of fun, and ticket prices weren't through the roof, either. I remember getting ringside front row seats for $10 each. :?
  11. Yeah, I hardly ever missed when they came to Bmt/PA.
  12. Man, reading all these names reminded me of why I liked wrestling so much during that era. Mid-South Wrestling and Southwest Championship Wrestling, although not as glamorous as WWF, AWA, & NWA, still rocked!!
  13. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this will be his 11th or 12th season at Nederland. Before coming here, he was an assistant coach at Thomas Jefferson (Pt. Arthur). I don't know what his compenastion is as HC & AD.
  14. None taken. Jacksonville's is nice, as is Stephenville's. Except for when Vidor used the Tampa Bay-styled pirate flag on their helmets a couple of years ago, I typically don't care much for HS helmets that aren't much more than an NFL or NCAA duplicate.
  15. Yeah, I just checked online and that is correct. If they were Reserved seats, I would have bought them online today, but Gen Adm . . . no way! I'll get mine the week of the game & avoid the "convenience" charge.
  16. Here is a good article about Troy Esprit, a former Beaumont Driller who is now an asst. coach for the Katy Copperheads. [Hidden Content]
  17. They show too much Trish already, IMO. Maria, Candice, & Torrie get my vote.
  18. I would concur with the San Antonio site. It is centrally located in the state, they have a domed stadium, and they have shown that they can successfully host an event like this, with the annual kickoff classic.
  19. That would be good. Then Nick could act more like the hard-hitting Linebacker he really is.
  20. I can't believe it has lasted this long, really.
