  1. It is nice to see Mosley getting a little break on defense now. It is not only good for him, but also good for the team in general that, in typical Bulldog fashion, players are stepping up and earning the right to start. That can do nothing but help the team as the season wears on. Way to go Dogs!!

  4. I realize that everyone from Vidor does not share the same sentiments as the author of the original quote, but Ned only blows the horn when the team enters the field and after we score. It is not blown when opposing offenses take the field. On the other hand . . . the cans are a different story.
  5. Sullivan got injured in the Bi-District game against Ozen at Bulldog Stadium. The following week, Sophomore Kevin Barbay led the Bulldogs to a Regional playoff victory against the Jacksonville Indians in the Astrodome. Sullivan took the field the following week in the D-I Quarter-Finals agaist Texas City. Although he gave it all he had, Sullivan was still feeling pain from the injury he suffered two weeks earlier. RB Ross LaBove was inured in the game against Texas City, as was Ned's 1st string kicker (his name escapes me at the moment  ). Texas City went on to win the 1998 4A D-I Championship.
  6. Kendall Briles from Stephenville was pretty impressive.
  7. No doubt piratesoccer, he is a gem. Just let us know when y'all are ready to send him home.
  8. That is a strong possibility. Mosley might even out-stat Sumrall, which he is on track to do (700+ yards & 10 TD's in only 3 games). I don't know what Sumrall's yardage was in '97, but I believe he had 30 TD's (maybe a couple of more, someone feel free to correct me), in 12 games played. The thing about Sumrall is that he was the first in a long line of exceptional HS RB's @ Ned, and he & the entire '97 team really raised community expectations and set the bar for Bulldog Football for the Neumann era.
  9. Yeah. In my mind, as well as many others, that single play set the tone for "Bulldog Football" in Nederland, and that spirit has yet to die. This year's team is certainly carrying on that "Never Say Die" attitude.
  10. Sumrall went to Nortwestern. LB Aubrey Brisendine walked on at SFA. I think he was a 4-yr starter there.
  11. Sabine Pass at Chester Cypress Community Christian at Evadale (Sat.) I couldn't edit my original post, so I had to add these two in this post. Sorry about that.

  14. I am not putting too much stock in Ozen's 0-3 record. They are probably the best 0-3 team in the state. They played 3 very good 5A teams, and they will be more than ready when district wars begin in a couple of weeks. Any team that overlooks them will be making a huge mistake.
  15. Oh, my bad!! I am such an idiot!!
  16. Are you sure Shly? They wouldn't be playing two nights in a row, huh?
  17. I'll bet the driver of that vette took exception to being passed on the highway!
