I once faxed a waiver (I think that was the document) to AT&T stadium for Dr. Cousins to sign during the State Championship games so a kid could play in a basketball game that night.  So lest people think the uil only jumps for the Duncanvilles of the world, I can attest that at least on one occasion, the same treatment was extended to Beaumont Central.

My question is how do you get cleared to play in the middle of a game?

BU starter basically played 2 quarters of basketball. They were up over 30 when they got pulled with 5:12min left in the 3rd.. So much length and speed..

This dude just said how they recruit all these players on this BU team. Get out of here dude geez

Warmup game usually means they just giving you a game because most people want at least 4-5 games in a tournament.. So they giving them a game. 

I remember too.  But after his recovery from his injury, he became a better shooter than he was before.  

Kevin was quite the jumper before his acl injury ! Remember watching him in warmups his sophomore season for ozen in 17

Silsbee is the second best behind BU for sure. 

As previously stated, by a pretty good margin.  The scariest part (for future opponents) is their youth.  Almost invariably, the younger a team (especially a well coached one), the more growth and improvement you will see.  I think a lot of us expected big things from the Tigers by season’s end.  But I, for one, would have lost some money betting on some of these early season games.  I expected them to compete but this has been AS impressive a pre-district run as I’ve seen from the great Tiger teams.  

I think it's safe to remove the word "might" from that statement.

Defensive down the stretch and overall rebounding determined the game. Plus some big shots by HJ (Davis) sealed it. Was a good game, the better team won that night.

Just a few observations:
(1). Analytics and Offensive stats are a waste of paper in high school basketball .They can be very misleading by outings against weaker competition . 
(2). The best judge of a “go to player” are the kids themselves. The opposing defense may limit that player’s ability to get the ball but the players know who should have it.
(3). If we have a coach at any level who doesn’t know if his best players are on the floor during crunch time he’s probably in the wrong profession. I haven’t seen a local coach who doesn’t know where his best players are. 

As a varsity coach myself, I can tell you 100% during close or tough games we do get tunnel vision and sometimes will get caught up only focus on one thing during games. That's why we have assistant coaches. I've made many mistakes in subbing, calling timeouts, play calls, etc....over my career that has cost games. It happens and any good coach will admit to it and apologize to his players and staff for it. Coach Kenebrew is that type of coach and the players and parents respect that about him. No the season isn't going as many imagine, but I knew there was a possibility it wasn't and have said that much to other parents when they criticized Coach Kenebrew. He's a good coach that had certain expectations or ideas of the type of players he had top to bottom and finding out otherwise. I believe he'll make adjustments and get them on track.

I don’t want hear about some lame excuse “I got caught up in the game” ….you actually believe that???  if 23 is suppose to be the man….then a coachisn’t gonna sit him for a qtr and a half….especially in a close game down the stretch……..He didn’t sub him in for some reason…..
yes the pg did have turnovers…..his effort is what stood out to me  especially on def.  effort you either have it or you don’t….

In my 20+ years of recruiting...Phone calls = Ive recieved your resume.....Offer means= i want you for the job....And if your holding out because of waitng for the BIG 1 at this point of his career they normally dont come cause his last summer has passed. Goodluck and enjoy the ride cause soon Highschool Basketball Season will be Over....A positive i can give tho is if your son has not committed and signed going into the summer he is eligible to Play 17u on any Circuit until he signs. Thats Nike, Adidas and Under Armour as well as independent circuits.
