My, My, My, What you say, what you say, Gotta give you a big Amen, and a Loud HALLELUJAH!! PREACH BROTHER PREACH :D :D. Hello everybody I'm back and looking forward to seeing most of you all this season. But I have to admit up front, I'm riding the Bronco's all the way and hope they have no injuries as well as all the teams in the area. I gotta feeling there's gonna be a lot of good football and trash talking this year. Woke up this morning my itch was gone, must be time for some football. :wub: :wub: :wub:    

Receivers are a big question mark for us.  We had at least two deep throws that should have turned into 6 and a number of other drops.  Ironically, a sophomore kid from JV who was just up to get a look at the varsity level caught the only deep ball late.  I'm not so worried about the center.  He is a vet.  He had a bad day and some of those snaps were by our number 2.
 
McBride is a slick open field runner.  If you guys can get him the ball in space he is going to embarrass some defenses. He made ours look bad a couple of time.

Was impressed with Friendswood they had size and good overall team speed. Receivers need to work on catching the ball a lot of drop-balls in wide open space and the center needs work on his hike's to many over the QB's  head. I don't know how tough the competition will be 6a but I do see this Friendswood team making a good run this season. Dayton had more rust to knock off and Friendswood banged a lot of it off for sure but that's what scrimmages are for. We need to work on our down field blocking a couple of blocks here and their would of resulted  in big gains, dumb penalties kept  "D" on the field and extended their drives. We allowed FW to turn the corner to easy I know that will change when we stacked our "D" with a few of our offense studs gong both ways. Our QB over threw some passes but overall looks likes he will put up big numbers this year. Don't see to many teams that will have an answer for McBride he is instant offense he had two short catches for long TD's.

Offense wins games,defense wins CHAMPIONSHPS.- tell that to Dayton and Sulphur Springs (2008 4a State Championship) set a record for highest scoring game in class 4a State championship game ! Neither team could stop the other ,if it weren't for a couple of key Bronco turn-over's  the score would of been even higher."69/49"

Thumbing through the Old Coach mag at Wal-Mart they had Dayton ranked 48th, big Ned 17th and Crosby somewhere in between, also had Crosby winning district . I lost my motivation to buy the rag. ( didn't buy Dave Campbells mag either ) :lol: :) ;)

I really like the mag, but I don't think I could pick Crosby to win district this year. No way they can be as good as last year. I think Dayton should be the pick.

Bronco's won't go 4-4 after 8 games !  We will take off where we left off last year during the post-season when we smoked LCM & held our own against Brenham. The defense will bigger and more experienced along with the new coach from Summer Creek I think we go undefeated in district play .

I just hope dayton doesn't have to bust out the old kicking toe again. I will never forget seeing Cody Green with that big kicking toe kick his only field goal of the year to put dayton in the state championship game. Dayton has had some really good kickers for the last 5 or so years.

So if you get flagged for a play- clock infraction , off-sides, ect...  does the play- clock start over for another 40 seconds ?

Two months from today I will be dripping sweat from the West Texas heat in Shotwell Stadium watching A-High tear a new one into some poor team from the MetroMess. :)

For the naysayers Dayton has been@ least to round #3 or better 10 times going back to 1998 & 9 times out of 16 times the teams that beat us=La Marque(2 times),Brenham(2 times),Conroe Oak Ridge 2002(1 time)Manvel(1 time)Bay City(1 time)Lake Travis(1 time)Sulphur Springs(1 time)(you see any weakness of teams listed?)went to semi-finals or finals **Lake Travis 07 & Sulphur Springs 08 won state.I'll never doubt what we're capable of,I don't wanna look back before the Stewart staff era=only look forward to this year when (this group of kids) make their mark on Bronco history.If there is any weakness it's us the fans,get up off your seat support & buy a saus/turkey leg & support your booster club that totally funds the Dayt Jr High atheletic programs.Slackers don't play @Dayt=Winners play there that's why we play up vs great programs in scrimmages/pre-season games.Got a purple/white suit I'll take to my grave

Dayton will have enough studs on offense to share some duties on defense along with the new-blood coming up I think we might be better than you think.

Brehnam manned up against him also the results 6 catches 250 yards 3 TDs...but I guess with all those D1 players in Crosby they can man up across the field...

Can't wait until he's gets behind the football and throws some homeruns in the end-zone !

That is true , but once we backed through the door we gave the State runner up a one point win and could of went either way ! Like Arnold says "we'll be back "  Dayton will be one more dangerous teams in REG.3 I wish SC was still in our District :)  ;)  :P
