PNG O Line was not outmatched. Gave QB Bailey (also not outmatched) time to throw and opened enough holes for Nguyen to get down field. SOC big goal line package was stout. SOC DBs were fast, but we exploited that D over the middle with their LBs playing so close to the line. 
PNG D Line and LBs adjusted in second half and stopped the run. Forced the pass and you were right, we put pressure on QB and changed the game. 
Green was great but Bears staff were stupid not to throw some swing passes or screens to him. One on one he was trouble but they never worked to get him one on one.

OTOH, there are coaches who know every single one of those but are still piss poor coaches. I have worked with PhD’s that are outright stupid.  Facts.

Ok SETX family Leaving for Dallas. I say thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I truly hope someday that each and every one of your communties get a chance to play for State. Teams like WOS, BWB, Nederland, Crosby, Dayton, Newton, San Augustine, Bridge City, and other communities that have made it to State have the chace to do it again. I make this promise if at all possible I will be there to support you. WOS please continue to lead the way. SILSBEE you are so close. Keep plugging away you will be there soon. Dayton our purple brothers and sisters its past time you returned back to the Dayton of old. Beaumont and Port Arthur you are both loaded and capable of making state. I look forward to the day it all clicks and you are there as proud communities. The one thing I have learned is it takes a lot to make it to the SC but one important factor our coaching staff has taught me is that you have to believe that you came make it to state. Another thing WOS has taught me is that to make it ti State you have to have a good defense. I wish, hope and pray that each and every SETX schools has this opportunity some day. Know that the support from our big community has been noticed by the PNG community. You all have been amazing. Thank you again. Lastly I would like to say thank you to the Nederland community. It has been an honor to express our excitement, frustration and in Charlie's case, homerism.  He is a die hard Tigers fan no doubt.  In case you didn't already know it.
It didn't end the way we wanted it to for the Tigers but we will be back.

I don't know  its hard to adjust to SOC giant WR'S running over PNG small secondary last year, hopefully PNG has beefed up in the secondary. PNG  great team with a great coach! 

PN-G did everything it needed to do to stifle the SOC offense in the first half. SOC changed the gameplan in the second half and started throwing the ball around a lot more.  Remember, up to that point in the season, SOC fielded a rush-heavy offense that hadn't been forced into the passing game very often. Any time PN-G tried to adjust to SOC's newfound passing game, SOC would go right back to running the ball. It was good coaching by SOC to keep the PN-G defense off balance and it worked.
With the amount of talent SOC brought to the table, every coach in the state would be hard-pressed to find a way to make fourth quarter adjustments for that move.

We didn’t necessarily need to adjust on defense. We needed to keep drives going so that SOC would run out of time for a comeback. When they moved a guy over on the d line, they largely took away the run and we started having quick three and outs. They basically said, “We’ll stack up on the line and force PNG to win through the air against our D1 secondary.” PNG couldn’t throw a fast enough ball on a good day against that secondary, our receivers weren’t quick enough to get open, and the qb was under pressure, so we weren’t going to keep drives open by throwing out of the pocket OR by running in the second half. The only thing I think might have worked would have been to take a Crippen out and put Shae in at QB - Shae could roll out, show pass, and run for a quick four out five yards. And, he might have been able to get a few passes completed as the secondary bit on the qb run. We could have chewed up a couple more yards a run and extended more drives, and just slowed them down a lot. We basically did that offense after crippen got hurt anyway, and Shae got some good runs at the end (and completed a few passes to set up a score) - I think if we had implemented that earlier, they would have had to adjust to the outside, possibly giving us back the inside run lanes. In other words, we could have adjusted to their adjustment and kept them guessing more.

After tonight’s game you still wanna say that statement? 

That’s one opinion, look around there are lots of coaches that can turn a program completely around in less time, as well as some coaches like we have had and currently have that make no improvements or minimum headway for the amount of years IMO. I can say that having seen the list of applicants each time Dayton has hired since Stewart I feel like there were quite a few proven coaches that could have turned the program around by now, so in fairness I feel like he should be held to those standards especially if Dayton keeps insisting on hiring unproven coaches when proven coaches are applying. To praise a sub par/average coach looking from the outside in is very easy when you have no skin in the game.

Will agree over-all  the program has been elevated but unfortunately I see no improvement in live game  coaching which has led to unnecessary heart breaking losses. Maybe a competent offense &defense  coordinator  that can actually make 2nd half adjustments would be a good start. Against average teams  we look decent but against good teams when you have to coach we look incompetent. 

You’re welcome to him and trust me Dayton knows about the green grass we’ve had 3 buddy buddy coaches in a row instead of the most qualified/ best fit and we’ve seen the results of those decisions. Just because you beat teams like Galena Park and Santa Fe (no offense to those teams) doesn’t mean you are “out of the crapper” either.

Maybe we could get 2wedge to come haul the coach off…. He said If we didn’t praise a piss poor job the coach would leave!!!😂😂😂😂

Maybe they knew something we didn't after 3 seasons with the broncos he is lacking in game leadership and live game management other than that I'm sure he's a nice guy.  We don't need nice guys we need proven successful coaches. The superintendent and schoolboard are as much to blame they get plenty of highly qualified candidates and choose politics over winning ( who cares about the fans or players )

Couple of awesome post Jayhawk, agree 1000%. Just throwing it out there …..New Caney didn’t really turn into world beaters when he was there (I’m sure some folks will scream it was a lack of talent) and they didn’t offer him the HC/AD there while he was there and the existing retired.

Several district and regional championships, State  final appearance- records  that  any Dayton coaches since cant even begin to scratch. He used to hold  defense coaching clinics  where coaches all over the state would attend. He was and an outsider with no buddy or political ties to the local click  his only goal was to Win!!!

one of the best RB's to come through Dayton in years and not only the Brenham game  but most big games like PNG he rode the bench a lot--- inexplicable . The only reason I can think of they didn't want him showing up the QB one of the coaches relatives.  Both the QB &RB received all district honors bust I guess its more important   to pad stats for a scholarship rather than win games.

I’ve watched a couple of bronco games. One that stands out is the Brenham game last year. Light rain. Wind blowing like crazy. Cold as heck. 
Dayton comes out passing like there’s no tomorrow. Meanwhile one of the best if not THE best running back touches the ball less than ten times. Most being in the final few minutes of the game.  
It made no sense.
