Assistant AD title included. Ware wasn't the AD either during his time there. Jeff Nations had that title and it was given to Geoff McCracken when Nations retired back in December.

Don't know this Geoff McCracken hopefully he's a temp AD - really doesn't matter though if its HC/AD or Assistant AD/HC as long as the money is good! -if little Jerry's dad is happy, I'm happy!  Go Broncos ----

    Hancock: 9-3, 9-2, 6-6, 7-5, 7-4

    Nations: 3-7, 2-7, 0-10, 1-9

    Ware: 0-10, 2-8, 7-4, 4-6

I don't think you can group Hancock with the other two tbh

Hancock had zero  people skills always running his players in the ground getting into it with the players parents  as well as the fans ! very negative and verbal abusive guy. He won a lot of games  because Stewart was in the back ground babysitting  even during live games he would give Hancock  hand signals  on what to do and laugh at him while saying how dumb he was while talking to liltex and me,

Foster will still be the focal point of the offense, just from a more dynamic position. He will benefit greatly from the addition of Jr and Dayton could be very very good very quickly. Especially with Prieto getting a jump start on installing his system by starting on March 4. Fun times in bronco land!!

    Good analysis-

I saw some of his highlights if he was the varsity QB last year? Crosby had a stud ‘27 QB that transferred to BH because of little Jerry. He’ll be the QB and Dayton will be better for it. It’ll be his 4th year in the system while the other kid won’t even know where to line kids up. I’m a tough critic of coaches playing their sons but little Prieto is legit and then some.

Hope little Jerry's dad  knows how to smooth current QB because he's a pure athlete -reminds me  of Jalen Hurts.( very powerful kid just getting stronger every year can play  both ways.) heard he was going to transfer until he found out Ware quit.

Nah, Levi’s off to college after the THSPA state finals and my prize steer who’ll be a sophomore next year is fond of the staff. Our defense was the worst I’ve ever seen but the DC played LB in the league, is a great LB coach and the kids love him.

Dayton is probably going to win somewhere around 30 games over the next three years with Prieto’s son at QB(if he stays at Dayton). They won’t have to worry about me moving in because he’ll have Liberty County sowed up. That’s just how it works as you can see from North Shore’s situation.

Guess you haven't seen Dayton s sophomore QB  play last year ! He's  a monster in his own right.Dont see him loosing his job .

Who was that former stud QB that Dayton had many years ago that went on to coach in Vegas at Bishop Gorman I believe?  Wonder if he would be interested.

Cody did try to come back. when they hired Nations but wasn't considered because Nations was in a tight click with the super and some of the school-board members. (which all are guilty of trashing a once revered football program) Hope things change but I don't see it until the good people of Dayton clean house!

  7. Ware was hired as HC and to be promoted to AD when Nations  retired. Word on the street he has retired so I don't see any reason  why they wouldn't hire an AD/HC for the job opening. Dayton isn't  that rich although some EXXON money is starting to roll in. I have no inside info haven't lived there for 10 years  and getting ready to retire in the middle of the woods  west of Centerville- always a Bronco !.

I share the concern. Not that we’re not hard to beat - PNg’s been pretty dang hard to beat. But, I share the concern that we’ll come up against a team we can’t move the ball running against, and won’t make adjustments. Which is exactly what happened against SOC last season. SOC adjusted in the second half. PNG didn’t .

I don't know  its hard to adjust to SOC giant WR'S running over PNG small secondary last year, hopefully PNG has beefed up in the secondary. PNG  great team with a great coach!

That’s one opinion, look around there are lots of coaches that can turn a program completely around in less time, as well as some coaches like we have had and currently have that make no improvements or minimum headway for the amount of years IMO. I can say that having seen the list of applicants each time Dayton has hired since Stewart I feel like there were quite a few proven coaches that could have turned the program around by now, so in fairness I feel like he should be held to those standards especially if Dayton keeps insisting on hiring unproven coaches when proven coaches are applying. To praise a sub par/average coach looking from the outside in is very easy when you have no skin in the game.

    Good points !

Just an opinion from an outsider whose opinion or thoughts don't matter. really more curiosity than anything else.

I haven't read any of this thread and being totally honest don't know yall record this season, but goodness it seems like I see more and more of these type scores for the Broncos. if I am correct last season was OK but it's been bout ten years or so prior to last year that the Broncos were the type of program they were mid to late 90s to 2010s. not really a powerhouse but a winning program that was guaranteed to be a tough challenge for who ever the opponent is/was.  what has caused  the downward spiral.  people moving away?, kids transferring?, or what? the talent pool just hit rock bottom?

I dont mean for this to be taken as negative or taking a shot a Dayton. it's just a football fan being curious.

Will agree over-all  the program has been elevated but unfortunately I see no improvement in live game  coaching which has led to unnecessary heart breaking losses. Maybe a competent offense &defense  coordinator  that can actually make 2nd half adjustments would be a good start. Against average teams  we look decent but against good teams when you have to coach we look incompetent.

Couple of awesome post Jayhawk, agree 1000%. Just throwing it out there …..New Caney didn’t really turn into world beaters when he was there (I’m sure some folks will scream it was a lack of talent) and they didn’t offer him the HC/AD there while he was there and the existing retired.

Maybe they knew something we didn't after 3 seasons with the broncos he is lacking in game leadership and live game management other than that I'm sure he's a nice guy.  We don't need nice guys we need proven successful coaches. The superintendent and schoolboard are as much to blame they get plenty of highly qualified candidates and choose politics over winning ( who cares about the fans or players )

  12. After a few years into his tenure at Dayton very very seldom did Stewart get blown out !  Maybe a loss against LK Travis  for the region final, pre-district he scheduled big schools like Fort Bend Elkins and Eisenhower  and win most times. Several district and regional championships, State  final appearance- records  that  any Dayton coaches since cant even begin to scratch. He used to hold  defense coaching clinics  where coaches all over the state would attend. He was and an outsider with no buddy or political ties to the local click  his only goal was to Win!!!

I’ve watched a couple of bronco games. One that stands out is the Brenham game last year. Light rain. Wind blowing like crazy. Cold as heck.

Dayton comes out passing like there’s no tomorrow. Meanwhile one of the best if not THE best running back touches the ball less than ten times. Most being in the final few minutes of the game.
    It made no sense.

one of the best RB's to come through Dayton in years and not only the Brenham game  but most big games like PNG he rode the bench a lot--- inexplicable . The only reason I can think of they didn't want him showing up the QB one of the coaches relatives.  Both the QB &RB received all district honors bust I guess its more important   to pad stats for a scholarship rather than win games.

There is a poster on here saying how great of a coach he is.. funny to read what the fans of the team say about it all. But you aren’t the first one saying what you are saying

I don't like to  be negative but its the glaring truth - we get these unproven Jr.high type coaches that basically live off the talent that's handed to them without having to coach.!
