  1. Nederland beats Vidor then loses to Lumberton. Livingston loses last two. Vidor loses to Nederland but beats Livingston. 3 teams with 4-3 records. How does Nederland automatically get in if they beat Vidor? It would be a points thing at that point with each team losing to one of the others. The only thing that is for sure Friday night is if Vidor beats Nederland then its Lumberton, Central, Livingston and Vidor in with the last week to go to determine seeding. That is regardless of what Livingston or anyone else does the last week.
  2. John Tyler in 1994 was 3rd in district behind Longview and Tyler Lee in a 4 team district and won the State Championship. I'm not sure what their record was but since it was a 4 team district and they played everyone in district twice and finished 3rd it couldn't have been that great a record.
  3. I would try and win for the District title and easier first round opponent. No sense in making it harder on yourself.
  4. Fine, I won't complain. Nederland in Nederland on Homecoming after their first loss of the year. That's a pretty tough game to win.
  5. Yes, they lost to Lumberton badly and I will give you that but since that time the TO's have gone down, the offense has started to click and they have been beating people pretty good and just went ON THE ROAD and beat Nederland on THEIR homecoming in what was the biggest game of the week. Yet, there is absolutely zero chance they will beat Central according to most on here. I just don't get it. I understand that Livingston is the new kid on the block and that no one outside of the Beaumont or Mid-County area can play football. But, don't kid yourself folks, Livingston can play, and it seems as if no one in this district can see that. I guess they will just have to keep on winning ON THE ROAD. Please, don't throw the Lumberton game back out there. They sucked that game but since that time things have changed DRASTICALLY. It's not the same football team that played that game and if you haven't seen Livingston play that night or since that night please keep your thoughts to yourself because you have nothing to base your opinion on how much better they have gotten. Getting off of soapbox now.
  6. Ozen is very undisciplined and runs a completely different offense. I'm not saying Nederland won't stop Livingston's speed but it is a different type of speed in the offense Livingston runs. It's not the drop back Pro formation pass and play action or the iso's and dives up the middle.
  7. It was Bellville and with 6 TO's three inside the Redzone they still had a chance to win that game. Just too many TO's to overcome. That problem has been corrected since then ten fold and you watch Bellville will be playing deep into the playoffs in 3A.
  8. Just my opinion on some things but here we go: 1. Livingston has gotten better all year long in each game in protecting the football. In the first game against Bellville they had 6 TO's and scored 20 something points. As each game has gone along they have dropped the TO's and scored more points as evidenced to 41 against Ozen with 2 TO's, 34 against PNG with 2 TO's and 50 against LCM with 0 TO's. As they protect the ball their offense gets so much better. Who wouldve thunk huh? 2. Livingston has so much speed that it's not even funny. There is not a team in the district, except maybe Central (I don't know because I haven't seen them play) that can match up with Livingston's speed and speed kills. For those of you whose teams have played them you know what I'm talking about. Nederland falls into that category in which they willl struggle with their team speed. 3. There are 4 new Varsity O-linemen on that team. Those guys have gotten better each week and they are starting to believe that they can move the ball. There are only two guys that returned from last years team and that takes a while before those guys can truly understand what it means to play on Friday nights. 4. If you are worried about the 24 points that were given up to LCM let me make something very clear. 14 of those points came on the kicking game in which there were all backups in the game. The other 10 came on the 1st teamers. Basically, all that shows is that past the starters there probably isn't much depth but LCM would have NEVER put up that many points had the starters been in the entire game. 5. As far as the Nederland game? The two losses Nederland has this year have come against two teams that ran right at them. Guess what Livingston does well? They run the ball right at you. Last night they had something like 400 yards offense with 350 or so being on the ground. If you run right at Nederland they are very vunerable. So, in saying that I think the score will be something like: Livingston - 35 Nederland - 21
  9. Apparently you missed the lumberton game. 2 td's through the air, over 60 yards apiece. You gotta be kidding me Again, I will say that you have to be very wary of that game being a true litmus test of the Livingston team. Keep believing that game to be the real team and we will be very happy to go ahead and win some more ballgames.
  10. Thanks for the welcome, we will do our best!!!!
  11. Wrong, we just played that bad against Lumberton. We had the same starters on the field against Lumberton as we did against Ozen, just completely different attitude and execution.
  12. Just my two cents. But, the team that you saw play against Lumberton was not the same team that you saw play against Ozen and PNG. There are something like 15 brand new varsity starters on this Livingston team that went 10-3 last year. I know Lumberton is going through the same thing but the thing is Livingston only played ONE game on the season before we played Lumberton. There is a ALOT of growing up and maturing going on with this Livingston team, day-by-day and game by game. I have been reading comments on here from Lumberton fans about how horrible Livingston is and that if a team in 20-4A gets beat by Livingston they are horrible as well. Well, I can give you NUMEROUS reasons why we lost to you that are just excuses but I won't. I will simply say that if you think that the same team that showed up in Lumberton after a 2 week layoff and inexperience galore is the same team playing at this time then I invite you to come out and watch Livingston again. You will see a team that is growing and maturing and believing in front of your eyes with every snap in every game. 20-4A has given Livingston ZERO respect this year and I understand that because we are the new kid on the block in this district but we came from a district last year that was just as hard and we know how to compete every game. If fans from other teams want to just believe that we don't belong in the district then don't be surprised when we come into your stadium and take that respect that we do deserve.
  13. Livingston B - 14 PNG B - 6 Livingston A - 13 PNG A - 6
  14. You guys aren't giving Livingston much credit on the offensive side of the ball huh? I think they will score more than 14 points. In my humble opinion.
