I watched them against PNG, Nederland and then I watched the HJ game online. I’m not saying BC isn’t 10-15 points better than a full strength healthy Vidor team, because they are, but not how this game went. That’s why I was wondering about Vidors issues? There is a difference in a team winning each quarter by 3-5 and by the end of the game winning by 20 and a team being up 30 by halftime or midway through the 3rd and then winning by 20.

Not sure if all of Vidors players are back or not, regardless of that Vidor must have some issues going on because I do believe BC is the best team in the district and will win it, but they are not that much better than Vidor. I’ve seen both play a couple of times this year.

Haven’t seen Livingston yet this year but that seem to be racking up some wins. Do they have a legit shot at winning district?

Once again HJ proves when they put it together they are a very solid ball club. With district starting Friday, I’ve got to believe they are the favorite to come out on top as DC. Same goes for BC. I know Lamarque and the Houston schools are probably a notch above these two teams but I’ve got to believe there is an outside shot they can upset them?

What schools in the district would have to make the play offs for them to split and one go big school and one go small school? Man, how crazy would it be if Beaumont had 2 state champions in the same year!

If you talking district championships no, I think they can still compete for a DC. If you are talking state championship? It’s definitely the beginning of the end. I think this years 8th grade class is solid but that’s about it and they aren’t anything compared to what Silsbee fans are used to.

Nice win for Tarkington. Shows that they will have a shot at contending for the playoffs this season. Silsbee will be fine, new coach, lost their best player in the off season and just now getting the football guys back in basketball shape proved to be to much to overcome against a solid Tarkington team. I still look for Silsbee to compete for the DC.

Hopefully this was a coming out party for HJ. You can’t lose to Vidor on Tuesday and then come out with this kind of Intensity and take WB to OT if you want to be a serious state contender. The consistency needs to be there week in and week out. WB has to feel good knowing all the have to do is keep the game close and then in the last few minutes of the game, just give the ball to Garrett and move out of the way, that kid is special!

I know it’s still early in the season, but this seems like a pretty big win for Vidor. Looks like they will be tough to beat at home. Do they have a chance to compete for the district championship? I expect HJ to be near the top if not at the top of their district as they get everyone healthy and familiar with Hancock’s system.

Seems like Huffman once again has a pretty solid team. Not sure how this one went, but didn’t expect it to be this close.
