Port Neches-Groves vs. South Oak Cliff Predictions
cal81 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
The PN-G fan base holds the #1 record for attendance at a single game in the United States, at 49,953. Since championship games are multi-game formats now, that record we hold will never be broken. Times have changed since streaming didn't exist back then in the late 70's. And smart phones, computers, and just a different generation. Even when we packed out the entire side of the Astrodome in 1999, the total crowd was only 39, 000. (30,000 PN-G fans and 9,000 Stephenville). Our crowd with SOC in Cowboys Stadium in 2022 was only 32,000 as reported. PN-G's fan base is still top 5 easy. We are also involved in the #1 rivalry game in America too. (Nederland in our district), according to Sports Illustrated. I always thought PN-G owned Friday Night Lights, based on some of these numbers above, as well as the history of state championships to back it up. I think the glory years of 1974-1977 that includes a state championship in 1975, a state finalist in 1977 and two semi-finalists in 1974 and 1976, is about to be broken with a new dynasty forming. 2022: 13-3 State Finalist 2023: 15-1 State Champions 2024; 12-2 State Quarter-Finalist 2025: 13-0 so far... -

Port Neches-Groves vs. South Oak Cliff Predictions

PN-G nearly beat SOC in 2022, did beat them in 2023 so there is no reason to think the Indians won't beat them in 2025. -
Port Neches-Groves vs. South Oak Cliff Predictions

I guess some people's memory is foggy. PN-G was beating SOC by double digits in the first half of 2022 and lost by 10. Then PN-G beats them the next year for the state championship. Last year's game obviously didn't go PN-G's way but that's why they play the game. PN-G has as good a chance of beating South Oak as anybody in this bracket. Including Richmond Randall. They beat them last year just like the Indians have. Let's play it on the field and find out. -
PN-G doesn't look past anybody. The preparation for the opponent each week is evident on the field and the scoreboard.
-
There have been comments all year that some think this 2025 team may be Coach Joseph's best yet. There are a lot of numbers to statistically support that too. I don't care who we are playing this week or in the upcoming weeks, the Indians have what it takes to win another state championship. They have one in 2023 and were very close to one in 2022. The Coach Jeff Joseph career so far at PN-G is a real story still in the making with school records falling all over the place.

The coaches have done a great job this season playing lots of players at all positions. Even early in games you see substitutions getting quality reps and contributing. The coaches know how to manage a young player with limited experience. We have 22 good players on the field during the game and I know they will perform well!

Follow the process and good things will continue.

Dayton (7) @ Port Neches-Groves (49) - FINAL
cal81 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
You guys need to relax. It’s 42-0 at the beginning of the 4Q. We are running plays like a practice and dominating Dayton. -
Plain and simple, Nederland's last season was not very good and this one is not very good.
-
PN-G 42 Dayton 21. Just like 6 out of the 9 wins this year, we command a lead and plenty of backups see action in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Port Neches-Groves (43) @ Montgomery (38) - FINAL

Well, I missed my score prediction, but PN-G won and is 9-0 and will be playing in December. -
Nederland is young every year...🤣
-
Computers don't know anything. PN-G will win this by double digits, probably more like 34-14.
-
LaPorte was the biggest challenge this season and PN-G had their best game of the season with a big win. A very talented Huntsville beat us for a half and then we took care of business in the second half. Montgomery is probably the third strongest team we will have faced so far this year. And the final score will reflect that. PN-G 42 Montgomery 17.

PN-G in the last 3 years has been State Finalists, State Champions and Quarter-Finalists. This 2025 team has the structure in place and the model to follow. They have their own identity and are blazing their own trail. This team will be playing in December. -
This not a 50/50 game. Montgomery’s offense relies heavily on their running back #1. Their passing game is average. Their defense is adequate. They haven’t played a PNG caliber team yet. PN-G 35 Montgomery 17
-
This is not a trap game. And PN-G will win big. I guarantee it.
-
This game won't be close. Lake Creek is better than Nederland and will win by double digits.
-
It's going to be rare that we beat any team by 40+ because we play a lot of reserves and early in the game as soon as we have a comfortable lead.

No surprise here…
